It was very close not even 5 minutes from the train station. The directions are very misleading. There is a front desk there is no need to call before you get there. It is true the May if you are arriving late in the afternoon you need to call because there won’t be anyone there but we got there at around 10 and there was plenty of service available. They held our luggage after check out time while we went to Machu Picchu and Emeegency picked it up when we got back and went to the train. The room was very nice. For the price it’s excellent and a block from the square. The only thing is it is right next to the train track so there is noise at any time so be prepared but for a very busy - train and construction it’s really not bad at all. Very happy with our stay
