Characterful and quirky premises with charm

The building feels generally tired. The bathroom was shoddy and dated. The door jammed on the uneven floor and the the extractor fan didn't work. The shower control was confusing because the old system has been left in place with a new one alongside. The lighting in the bedroom was poor and supplemented by lamps on extension leads. The price paid was premium rate due to a special birthday it was disappointing.

Excellent breakfast menu. Hotel very centrally located. A proper log fire stove in the lounge area.

Spacious room, very clean Sofa so we could watch tv Nice and warm on a chilly day

Restaurant shut early due to it being a bank holiday so had to find somewhere to eat Lots of stairs to get to room

The room we had was in desperate need of refurbishment. Whilst the bed linen was clean, the whole room was tired looking and as a result came across as rather grubby unfortunately.

Atmosphere was great.

Tiny coffee cups in the room and at breakfast. Nespresso machine took forever to make a tiny cup!
