"Nice hotel"

8.0

The only minus of this hotel is location. Impossible to get from subway on foot. But buses, trolleybuses and mini-buses can take you to Nevskiy pr. in 15 minutes. There's shop Diksi near hotel. Stayed in hotel twice. Impression is the same. Rooms are clean, with A/C, flat TV. Bathroom is clean, too. Breakfast is very good, with nice choice. Staff is poilte and helpful.

"Karelia Hotel"

8.0

I recommend the Karelia Hotel in St Petersburg, Russia. This is very good place to stay in St Petersburg. It's not real expensive, and the in-house restuarant caters to people of all nationalities. It's a place to stay that's not right in the downtown part of the city, but it's close enough that it doesn't take too much time to get there. This is not a 5-star hotel, but it's a great value for the money. If you're going to St Petersburg, Russia, for a stay of any length, I recommend this hotel.

"Budget hotel"

8.0

Good value for money if you book directly from Karelia hotel webside avoiding any agencies , they do have 50% off if you book in advance and not very busy month ( like July and august) even thenif you book earlier you can safe a bit of money. Breakfast and costumer service all depends on the team of people who working that week , it can be poor or good . In UK you can stay in same hotel few times abd ecspipience could be different too. In some Russians hotels even 5 stars you can have ecselent or very unpleasant exspitience , like I said it all depends on the team who work that time. I have been almost to every hotel in St. Petersburg , and every time I Choos them depends what I want to do and where is more convenient for me at that time. Karelia , I think good budget hotel if you stay with family or on your own and easy going person yourself. Ther is no luxury , but nice and clean . Business rooms always better then standard rooms, even tho they can be same price . Town centre about 25 min on the bus tho or you can call from any phone for taxi on 068 , best to use moble tho , or from reception . Prices are reasonable , Hsiang it will cost about £10-£15 to Dawn town from hotel, if you use 068 number .

"Fresh staying at St. Petersburg"

8.0

The Karelia hotel is located nearby to park in quite silent area in St. Petersburg. However, the location is a bit far from the centrum, we used the minibus to go to old city (there are direct routes). It was a pleasant stay in that hotel. The breakfast was nice with wide food assortments. I could recommend this hotel for people who would like to live in quiet areas with low noise and fresh air.

"Typical Russian 3 star hotel"

6.0

Hotel is a typical 3 star hotel you will find in Russia. Nothing fancy, but ok. The room was more or less clean. The furniture was ok, but I noticed some cigarette burns on the chair. The bathroom was good and the towels were clean. Breakfast was ok, but after 3 days you'll get tired of eating the same food. It had the usual 3 star hotel breakfast, you won't be hungry, but you'll become bored of it after a while. The biggest problem is the location, it's too far away from everything. It's in a middle of a neighbourhood. The only reason I stayed here was because it was a long weekend and all of the other hotels under 4000rub/night were full. It's a 4km walk from the nearest metro station. Realistically, it's about a 7km walk from the centre of the city. So, you can forget about walking. There is a trolleybus #3 running right to the hotel and this is your best bet. The only problem is that traveling on the trolleybus, it will take you something like half an hour to get to the centre of city. In my opinion, I have nothing against the hotel, but the location isn't great, so I would recommend to take a hotel nearer to the centre.

"Good for low budget tourists and groups"

4.0

The customer booked this hotel for me; I must say as a business traveller this is not satifactory: the service in the restaurant is slow, very poor English at the reception and the restaurant, hi-fat Russian style breakfast and no foreign TV programs, only Russian ! The rooms are not bad and quite clean, surrounding a bit dull, there is a shuttle service to the city center
