"Need a car"

6.0

Took ages too find as name was overgrown with ivy. 2 hours drive fron Catania airport. Driving is "mad". Noisy at night, barking dogs from some residents near by. No complimentaryy fill ups of toiletteries. Staff were as obliging as they could be as English was not fluent. Not much to see after doinf "Etna"

"A fine experience"

8.0

The hotel was fine, and the staff extremely helpful and courteous. The only drawback was we had not realsied it was off the beaten track, but that is our fault not theirs. The town is quite small with only a couple of restaurants. However, the restaurant at the hotel was very nice, and it was all very reasonably priced. You need a car to get out and about, but it is about 15km from the coast at Taormina, and less that an hours drive to the North face of Etna. Breakfast was plentiful, although the only shame is that the coffee is from a machine. The rooms are what you would expect from a reasonably priced hotel. The pool on the roof would be lovely in the Summer (it was a bit cold by the time we went). You need a swimming hat though. Overall I would certainly recommend this hotel provided you are looking for a restful stay and not nightlife

"Nice hotel - farther from Agrigento than expected"

6.0

Nice hotel with lovely roof terrace and pool. Friendly staff. Distance from Agrigento is about 16 km but it takes 20+ mins. due to local roads.

"A real bargain!!"

8.0

Our family booked these hotel on internet, truthfully just because having an adress in advance the first two nights during our vacation in Sicilia. The location was really good close too both Taormina and vulcano Etna! The price we paid for this two nights was more than 30 euro cheaper than any other night during our 10 day vacation! Nice hotel, kind people working there and a really good breakfast (important for swedes) and also very important for our daughter - swimminpool!!

"Nice hotel with pool, but car needed"

8.0

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel d'Orange d'Alcantara, using it as a base to explore Etna, Taormina & the Alcantara Gorges. The rooftop pool has great views and the staff were friendly. On the downside, the breakfast was nothing special and a car is needed to go anywhere as the village is pretty out of the way (which also has its advantages!). Overall a nice hotel for the price.

"wonderful expierience"

8.0

The hotel was wonderful. Guissippe the manager was more than helpful. He showed us around the hotel which was more than I expected. Meetings rooms/ pool/ bar/ restaraunt with several areas in or out. Many places to sit and relax. If you need info then just see the manager and he knows it all. May be a little out of the way but well worth the extra time to get there.

"A beautiful Sicilian town"

10.0

This hotel sits in a beautiful Sicilian town near Mount Etna and most importantly far from the madding tourist crowds. The staff were so friendly and helpful (mostly fluent in English) to the point that we had an early bus to catch in the morning we checked out and as it meant missing breakfast in the hotel, we were given breakfast picnics! The restaurant attached to the hotel served traditional Sicilian food and seemed popular even with the locals. They had a la carte or a set menu for 18 euros per head which changed daily - I would really recommend this - beautiful seasonal produce! Though I also recommend skipping lunch beforehand. The pool on the roof was good and maintained well. If the weather is good it is enjoyable. It did rain a couple of daysand staff apologised - such dedication to customer service!

"A little disappointing"

6.0

I found the staff very helpful - the manager was happy to provide an alternative for my daughter's breakfast (she is coeliac) and quickly dealt with a problem with our door lock. However, i found the room very hot (air conditioning motor was above the door therefore didn't reach all areas of the room very effectively), fridge didn't work (made things hotter!) and my daughter's room was in need of a little updating. However overall a pleasant enough stay.
