MATCHA SAMUI RESORT

The room was clean, bright and comfortable. Right on the beach, it’s a good location. Plenty of restaurants close by. Probably time to update the pool and beach furniture, it’s very tired

Very nice place, hotel was very accommodation, breakfast was excellent, beautiful beach!

Its good hotel near to all restaurants and they make a nice surprise for me because it was my anniversary...

Stayed at the Chaba for 10 days. Found everything good, room spacious everything worked and looked new, cleaned as soon as sign went up and cleaned well.Staff are the best go out of there way to help. Breakfast good plenty to choose. 2 pools well looked after with spa. Beach bar with happy hour twice a day and do a great latte at the beach. Great situation within walking distance of everything and some realy nice restaurants around there. Great value for money and would stay there again loved it.

Little room, expensive hotel

The hotel has done a number of improvements since we stayed previously, but some areas are still untidy, very dated and the beds have only had mattresses replaced. These were very hard to sleep on for us even though we asked for and got a topper, but not a lot better. The pillows were also very hard on the head and neck. We also had them changed with partial improvement. Other parts of the rooms have been updated very cheaply and quite poor quality materials which will wear quickly. The bathroom has had the tub removed and a large shower in place, but there is very little room for one let alone two people in the same room. The garden area is now lush and green, very nice. The pool has a swim up bar but is not used. The bar being used is tired even though extended and tidied up partly. Most of the umbrellas are old and stained, some with metal sticking out and could be dangerous if caught in the wind. The reception area is extremely dated and uninviting when first arriving. This area could be much brighter and inviting for loungeing or reading on wet days. The staff try very hard to please and mostly succeed. Some days the toiletries were not replenished every day and not to choose from. In regard to the breakfast area, the range is basic and needs a huge change to keep interesting and tasty. The pots of coffee should go down the drain as the taste and strength is horrid. However, most of the food is reasonable and ok, but boring.

The Chaba was a good choice for us, as we were looking for a reasonable value hotel at the best part of the beach, but still close to the action of the main street. Chaba ticks the boxes. The rooms (and we were on the Ocean side which is the preferable part of Chaba) have been renovated and in really good condition. Breakfast was fairly average. The bacon was always cold! On our first night, we were told that they were unable to accomodate us as there were problems with air conditioning, and didn't have a room available, and offered to put us into their other Chaba hotel. This one was very old, and old rooms, and not at the best part of the beach and quite a long way from the main area of restaurants etc, so we were glad to only be there one night. They gave us a free dinner at the hotel in recompense - which was an excellent meal. Although we weren't overly happy about not having a room, we were there for 8 nights, so wasn't so bad, and the dinner made up for it.

Great location very central and fantastic safe beach

Outside doesn’t look so special but rooms were lovely and pool area was comfortable. Stayed in the ocean view building which doesn’t actually have an ocean view but was nice regardless.
