Berkeley Inn

On the website the photos are beautiful. In person, the hotel is a bit run down. There are no elevators, the curtains are see through, and the room is bare bones and reeks of pine-sol--had to open the screen less window to allow the fumes to get out. I went for one night just to attend a concert at The Greek Theater. Overall it was quiet and the bed was really comfortable and clean--with soft sheets and soft-comforter that was not scratchy--which helped put me to sleep quickly. The TV had a swivel and channels for any show you want to watch while you get ready to go out. The mini fridge in the room cools all your drinks. The shower had plenty of hot water--the air conditioner/fan works on the instant. There is a sweet little cafe called Cafe Leila right next to it where the breakfast makes up for the night. The owner of Cafe Leila is welcoming and you can sit in a garden and enjoy your coffee and pastry.

I would not stay at this place again!!!!! I did not feel safe at this hotel. My room was on the third floor. There are wirers hanging from the ceiling where the smoke alarm should have been, no screen on the window (a child could have fallen out the window), the air unit was taped up with red tape, an outlet was broken (a child could have put their finger in the outlet) and then no peep hole. You can look right inside the room from the outside. I felt very violated. I heard doors slamming through out the night. While in the parking lot getting my stuff, two women were walking around dressed half naked. I told the office person about the peep hold and he said that he already knows about it. Did not care that you can look right into the room. Not a good place for kids at all.

Fewer parking spaces than guests. I was blocked in by other cars when needing to leave in a.m. Room clean but dilapidated furniture. Bathroom fine. Nice man at check in. Did not stay 2nd no get because of condition of room, parking issues.

I picked a none smoking room the room I got smells cigarette the people staying next room were so loud all night I couldn’t sleep good

Starting with the sign, the propety needs an immediate facelift. My shade was badly torn, and the curtain was falling off the rod. There was a hairball of some sort near the drain of the shower, and the towels were very rough. It apperared as though the property was poorly maintained. The courtesy of the staff didn't make up for the overall condition of the property.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Clean and nice rooms for the price. Tight parking but where isn't in the city, I found spot in the parking lot every day after work.

Property needs a lot of refurbishing. The folks who run the Inn try very hard to please. The room is clean but needs a facelift. The location is good, safe to walk esp. during daylight.

It was a small inn. I like that, but what I didn’t like is that there was a dried stripe on the bathroom wall where the attempt to clean it was made, but it didn’t get finished. Also there was black marker on the wall with insane sounding messages, plus there was some kind of gunk on the “dining”table. It didn’t look sanitary is all I can say! Also the neighboring rooms had apparently no sound conduction so the louder they spoke the more they sounded like they were right in my room!! Yuck! I would not stay there again although on my first two visits it wasn’t like that.

I think I got bed bug bites from this place.
