Just back from another fantastic stay in the riu monica, we've only one word to say to every one involved with this hotel THANKS VERY MUCH FOR EVERYTHING, See you all again in October.

10th May until 21st May 11 nights. Really pleased with our room allocation on the sixth floor. Hotel cleanliness, staff and service second to none. Entertainment improved on most nights especially Hector Baron and the Hit bros. Drinks prices very reasonable especially for a hotel.Location of hotel 12 min leisurely walk to resort centre.Adult only although always busy around the pool area. Hope to return in the future. Smooth check in process. Plenty of good choices. Good evening entertainment. Excellent location within easy walking distance of bars, shops etc . Only negative comment is the sun bed situation. Impossible to get one that is fully in the sunshine unless you get up early and join the race. People put towels on them and then disappear for hours - not fair, and the hotel really should police this.

Riu Monica.Nerja. We have been using Riu Hotels for many years.Mexico,Gran Canaries and spain main land. Location :- Walk out of the front entrance and turn right,it's a 10 min walk into Nerja centre.Nerja has plenty of bars & restaurants and the famous Balco Europe,the sticky out bit over the sea.Plenty of bars outside the hotel serving snacks with fair prices.Theres a land train which takes you up to the caves for 6 euro.Bus stop to the right leaving the hotel 2minutes away. Hotel Riu Monica :- The usual high standards that you expect from Riu.This is an Adults only hotel with half board.The hotel is located on the front over looking the sea.One pool outside.it was a bit cold the water.Bar prices quite good for an hotel chain.Bars ,rooms and restaurant usual good standard for guest. Evening entertainment .What can i say,get a few drinks down you before sitting down. Around the hotel there isn't any fun activity for guest inside & outside ,especially around the pool area. What has to be said is this hotel is basically used by retirees of all nationalities ,sitting round pool area is very quiet and stale,a bit of music wouldn't go amiss. A good hotel with good organised staff.We would visit again but use it has a base.

This hotel is extremely clean, comfortable and backs on to seafront. Of all the many all-inclusive hotels in which I have stayed, this extensive buffet has the most wonderful and largest choice of food. All the staff were efficient and very friendly. There are three lifts and 7 floors and one never had to wait long. Our room on 1st floor was large, with balcony and the usual safe,fridge and tea/coffee service. I've had massages in hotels all over the world but this was the best. The entertainment was extremely loud and either guitarists or female singers which was disappointing but the card-playing room was busy ! Would stay there again, especially for the celebrations in the town on the feast of St. Isidro on the 15 May with a church service at 11am then a procession of oxen and horses pulling beautifully decorated wagons and floats and ladies in beautiful dresses riding side-saddle through the narrow lanes for hours before going to the caves and dancing .

Hotel location is perfect, on the beach, Short walk to numerous shops, restaurants and bars. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and very polite. Room was large with usual fittings, bathroom was well appointed, all cleaned to a good standard every day. Food was buffet, selection was large and varied, expect would suit all tastes. Spanish restaurant in hotel requires to be booked in advance, well worth a visit or two, food is very tasty, self-service tapas, selection of main courses and postre. Hotel entertainment every evening in the bar area, table service very good. Sunlounger blockers exist, reserving loungers at 06.00 and not being occupied until mid afternoon, an extremely irritating problem, hotel should invest in solving this issue. Overall very difficult to fault this hotel, most enjoyable holiday.
