Ben Nevis Hotel & Leisure Club

Sauna. Friendly staff, particularly Syeed, really felt welcomed by him and at home speaking with him.

The entrance to the pool area has severe water damage and the rooms got really hot at night time (they don’t have ac).

There were some good aspects to the hotel. The best was the swimming pool. Although the changing rooms were tired looking and the shower pressure low, the swimming pool itself and jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were of a good standard. I was expecting waiter service for breakfast rather than a help yourself process (this is because every other hotel we went to had this service) but actually the quality of the cooked breakfast and everything else was again of good quality. The room we had was good but the TV on certain channels were not always working. As for the staff, everyone i had contact with was excellent and very helpful.

Overall, the hotel needs an update. Walking around the hotel their was paint peeling off the walls and a lot of damp spots where it looked like water leaks had come through. Considering the cost of the rooms and it being the most expensive hotel we visited during our trip (we went to three other hotels), this was by far the worst hotel and the most expensive.

Pool

Internet not working in room becsause signal too weak. Shower was only luke warm. Hotel looks a little run down.

Swimming pool really good. The room.had plenty of shampoo and conditioner and tea and coffee. Room size really good with a settee.

When we checked in the receptionist said it was £220 for the night but on the booking site it had said £200 which is expensive enough. When l said it was £200 she apologised saying she didn't have her glasses. We asked about breakfast and she said it was £29 for the two of us so we were happy to pay. We had our breakfast the next day which was lovely and we went to pay at reception and she quoted £58.00 when l queried it she said we had stayedc2 nights. I told her we had only bookedc1 night and she just blamed the computer and didn't apologise. Being over charged once is bad enough but twice is unforgivable

Heater jammed on full in room. The room was like a sauna asked for a fan was told no don't have any. I asked if possible to be moved was told no. I explained to staff that I was on bood thinners and had to be careful in extreme heat. This was dismissed and they told me that home bargains was up the road to get a fan my self. They had someone travel from Glasgow to turn the valve off but no wind or cold air so very uncomfortable heat. No water offered I understand we get the odd day hot weather in Highlands but the hotel knew of the heating problem they had and should have had measures put in place considering this was at 6.30pm

Stayed in a single room for £204, The TV had no Ariel connected to it, bedside cabinet (screwed to the wall was hanging off, shower head was disgusting, no water coming out of bath taps so had to fill the bath via the shower, water was warm at best. Toilet would not flush anything away due to the less than 1/2 the cistern filled with water and a bottle filled with sand 7 water to reduce the amount of water even further. Staff at reception was not interested at all. The pool is good, water nice and warm but need a tetanus if you are going to use the changing rooms. Hotel last painted in the 70’s. Definitely not worth £204.

The bar meal’s exceeded expectations, large portions and cooked to perfection.

The first room we were given half the lights didn’t work and the radiator leaked water so you couldn’t turn on any heat without flooding the room. We went to reception and complained to be told there was no other room, we continued with our conversation and asked for the manager it was then the receptionist found us another room which was better.

Unser Zimmer war durchaus in Ordnung. Es lag auf der straßenabgewandten Seite mit Blick in die Landschaft und war daher sehr ruhig. Wir haben das Ben Nevis Hotel als Übernachtungsmöglichkeit auf unserer Motorradtour genutzt und dafür war es völlig ausreichend. Für diesen Zweck können wir es daher empfehlen.

Das Hotel ist erkennbar in die Jahre gekommen und müsste insgesamt renoviert werden. Vor allem das Bad in unserem Zimmer entspricht nicht mehr aktuellen Anforderungen. Auch ist es sehr hellhörig. Für das Gebotene war der Preis für eine Übernachtung aus unserer Sicht zu hoch.
