Residenz am Dom Boardinghouse Apartments

I've stayed in the Residenz am Dom Apartments twice. I chose to stay there due to the location near the main train station. The bathroom is spacious and clean. The balcony is large and has a table & chairs. The apartments seem very safe, the staff is nice, the unit was clean, and it's easy walking to most everywhere. The grounds are very nice, with gardens.

The beds, sofa, chairs and linens are extremely basic and not very comfortable. The kitchen has very little as well. The last time I was there it was extremely hot in Köln and the unit did not have AC or even a fan. It was sweltering inside the apartment. It's very close to the main police station, so it's constantly noisy with sirens. Sleeping with the windows open is impossible due to the noise.

Nice big room with kitchen and living room. Felt we could come and go as much as we wanted. It had a swimming pool but we ended up not using it.

The settee was not very comfortable and the dining room chairs were marked and obviously quite old. We had evening meal in the restaurant one night which was very expensive and food was disappointing.
