Sonesta Simply Suites Detroit Novi

The property was conveniently located near restaurants, shopping, expressways, and the Suburban Showplace. The efficiency suite we paid for was disappointing. The oven door didn't close completely, rendering it unusable. There was only one small saucepan for cooking. Dishes for eating were 2 glasses, 2 cups, 2 plates, and 2 serving size bowls. There was only one (1) set of silverware so not sufficient for two people staying in the room. Further, there was no dish cloth, dish towel, dish soap, or dishwasher detergent. As a result the only thing usable in the kitchen was the microwave and refrigerator - things that could have been had in a standard hotel room.

Couch in the room was pretty gross, bunch of stuff was damaged or broken, other patrons were super noisy until 1am. Bed was thankfully pretty good, and front desk was very friendly.

When I went to check in this property told me at 4pm they had no clean rooms. Then the lady at the front desk tried calling the manager twice to see who was her house keeper the manager then hung up on her. This property had bugs in the room.

Hallway had the worse smell, furniture and carpet was dirty and needs to be updated and need better appliances oven door almost fell off and part of dishwasher came off

The stove/oven was dirty and we told them on the day of check-in. They said someone would come to clean the oven - no one ever came to clean. We reported it to staff to make sure we would not be charged.

The hotel is in a state of disrepair, with the rooms exhibiting significant cleanliness issues. There has been a lack of proper cleaning, resulting in dirty hallways and carpets. Additionally, the absence of fumigation has led to a noticeable presence of insects
