Grand Oaks Hotel

It was located right off the strip so that was a plus.

There was a really loud noise like someone was doing construction all night and when we called down to the front desk we were told they didn’t know what the noise was and there was nothing they could do about it. Did not sleep very well due to the noise.

The staff is great,the facility is clean and well staffed.

I was allowed to get more tea bags, sugar, and cream for my room since I don't drink coffee. When booking, I requested off the ground floor and that was given at check in without me asking again. The counter in the bathroom and the bathroom itself were a nice size. It was nice having a desk chair and a comfy one.

We couldn't arrive until 10:00ish at night. By the time we unpacked and turned on lamps, we realized there was a short in the cord for the bed lamp. When I called the desk, I was disappointed no one could come and replace the lamp. We had to wait until we came down the next morning. The reason it didn't meet my expectation was because I thought this was where I stayed several years ago. That breakfast was a huge dinning room with two large buffets which included wonderful cinnamon rolls and bacon. I liked the sausage at Grand Oaks but hoped for bacon on one of the mornings. I don't eat many of the other items offered. Muffins, especially with nuts, just don't do it for me. For me, a great breakfast is cinnamon rolls or donuts and bacon.

Had to go to the other building for a hot tub.

They saved me with a last minute booking issue with another hotel, quickly and very understanding. Dont judge a book by its cover with this one, it’s not flashy and it looks like any other hotel. It was affordable, clean, with a friendly staff and a great complimentary breakfast spread.

The only thing I disliked was the bedding. The comforters seemed to be a duvet sandwiched between two flat sheets not an actual duvet cover or comforter. But that’s it.
