This review deserves a 5 star but just because of the staff with their selective treatment at the club lounge - Walid, Mansoor and Ayman. I had booked lounge for easy access for my elderly parents, but these individuals ignored us and despite sending several complaints on the ihg feedback, these gents did not improve. They will tell us food or drinks are finished or make a face when we ask for something. The only staff who catered to us well in the lounge was Yasin - gem of a person! Every other staff in the hotel from reception - Abdulaziz Thabit, breakfast - Kamal - manager with Itehad, Motaz and cleaning team led by Alamin Ali. Beyond expectations. That compensated for the club lounge staff. The rooms, amenities, facilities and the breakfast all wow! I highly recommend this hotel because of the general staff, excellent location and food, with well maintained rooms but the lounge not worth with those staff and their behavior!

Again and again, this hotel will stay my favorite. Apart from the usual positive aspects being in the heart of Haram and in a magical location; the team is amazing. From the minute you enter the hotel, the smell, the smile, the genuine passion of every team member to make you feel welcome and recognize is beyond expectations. The whole team at the front desk are so professional, going further to the dining experience, the royalty feeling at the lounge takes you somewhere else. At the restaurant (I experienced Al Tayebat) you will meet the unbelievable team out of which I may name Mohamed Traibia, Ashraf Tabobi, Abdel Maguid Al Zahrani and many more rendering exceptional services. As for the food quality and taste, I really thank all the chefs who never cease to surprise me. Thank you, Intercontinental Dar Al Tawhid, under the fantastic management of the real hospitality figure Mr. Mohamed Serag.

Major Renovations I have been a guest at this hotel since 2002, and unfortunately, my most recent stay in November 2025 will likely be my last. The property appears to be in need of a comprehensive renovation, as many areas show signs of aging and wear. During our stay in a two-bedroom suite, we noticed that the room had a persistent odor, and the furnishings and décor seemed quite dated. The bathroom facilities could also benefit from refurbishment, as there was a noticeable musty smell that affected our comfort. Additionally, the carpet and some surfaces appeared in need of deeper cleaning or replacement. The hotel’s primary advantage remains its excellent location, which continues to be very convenient. However, considering the current condition of the facilities, I found the overall value to be below expectations, even with the discounted rate we received.

We enjoyed our breakfast at InterContinental Dar Al Tawhid Makkah. We were warmly welcomed by Achraf and the lady at the front desk, a pleasant start to the morning. A big thank you to Manager Salman for his great leadership. You can truly see his influence in how well the team works together and how smoothly everything runs. The breakfast spread was amazing with variety of choices, from local dishes to international ones, all fresh and beautifully presented. All the serving staff were polite, courteous, and always ready to help with a smile.

Having checked in after a night flight and feeling very tired I was greeted by super polite staff mashallah excellent welcome and automatically I felt at peace. I didn’t book the haram view as no option was shown on booking.com but the gentleman was VERY KIND to give me the room with a view. I walked into the room and subhanallah the view was like a dream! I felt like it was picture in front of me. I have been blessed to perform umrah many times always staying in the clock tower. Staying at this hotel is a game changer for me, and inshallah moving forward I will always book this hotel. It felt authentic it was very clean the prayer rooms were amazing. Having returned home I can not stop talking about how beautiful this hotel is from inside to the location. It was perfect and from the depth of my heart thank you for the warm hospitality.

We went to the buffet for the breakfast & Food and service was amazing. The servers Salman so good and so accompanying, they provided us the food and made our breakfast feel luxurious and relaxing. I’m glad I came for this 5 star buffet with its 5 star service.

Back at Dar al Tawhid after a year. This hotel has the best location in Makkah. The rooms are outdated but very clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was lovely with a large selection. Can't beat this hotel for convenience.
