NusaBay Menjangan

- schitterende omgeving tussen de herten en apen - goed restaurant met heerlijk ontbijt, lunch en avondeten - snorkelen voor het verblijf tussen de kleurige vissen - wandeling te maken vanaf het verblijf om apen te spotten

- doordat je zo afgelegen verblijft ben je in alles afhankelijk van de accommodatie. Zo boekten we een snorkeltour naar Menjangan die aardig aan de prijs was. Er is geen concurrentie. De snorkeltour is wel echt de moeite waard en wij hadden het geluk om ook dolfijnen te spotten.

A very special place

Service and food were great. Loved the peace and quiet. Awesome they have free snorkeling gear etc. Staff very well trained and were great at anticipating guests needs. (Unusual in Bali generally). My thanks especially to "Manda" in the restaurant.

Dive trips and snorkelling at the actual Menjangan Island (10 -15 min boat ride from Nusa Bay) were run by a separate dive company. Although the staff were very friendly and helpful, and they reefs we viewed were great, thought that their pricing was fairly expensive for a 3hr trip.

The Lanai Cottages are very comfortable. All staff are very warm and welcoming - especially Lia from the front office. The staff meet you at both jetties so there is zero confusion.The location is stunning - right in the middle of nature... from beautiful fish filled water to monkies and deer. A couple of days was perfect. Annie at the resort's spa gives an amazing Balinese massage - probably the best I've had in Bali. Free canoes and snorkling equiptment was an added bonus. The resort equipts visitors with room insect spray but bring your own repellent if sensitive. Plus bring your own snacks - no shops only a restaurant on the island.

- hotel should warn guests that they need to take a 20 minute boat ride from a harbor in order to get to the hotel. This was a suprise for us. - yes the hotel is isolated and located in a national park but the rooms were full of giant ants on the floor and in the bed often bitting us. At least take measures to minimize this and to make the guests feel more comfortable. - rooms / bathrooms were not very clean. The nets around the bed are very dirty and stained - the beach was so dirty! There was staff sitting around doing nothing.They could at least take turns and pick up garbage from the beach once or twice a week
