Budget Host Motel Gainesville

Check in was through a little hole in the glass- couldn’t hear the lady very well and she didn’t speak clear English; plus tried to charge me more , so I had to show her my reservation email. Not a nice facility and could use a good cleaning.

We arrive and the attendant at the front desk was very rude.room was awful and hot. The microwave, refrigerator, air conditioning didn't work. The room smelled musty and the bed linens were dingy and dirty looking. Place was absolutely garbage.

Bed comfortable. Slept well with pillows. Bed soft enough, not smothering nor a board. Place is old but clean. Great for stop gap in trip but not a week stay.

Only problem was found a roach in my room. I stay here often going to casino. Just wish pillows were thicker.

This is one of the worst "motels" I have ever used. There was NO hot water in our room; when we asked the front desk the following morning, the 'owner' said it was warm enough! He couldn't understand why it was not hot because "no one else is staying on this entire side of the motel." He offered for us to stay in another room; we HAD to stay in Gainesville so we took it. The rate each night was $69; I would have thought he might offer a discount due to the hot water issue but he did not. Of the 6 light fixtures in the bathroom, only 3 had bulbs in them. Overall, the room was fairly clean and quiet (after all, no one was on our "entire side of the motel"). I would NOT stay here again, even if it meant going to another city.

Door lock was hard to engage, screen covering bathroom window had a hole in it which was covered with an old paper towel, mattresses under main queen bed were two twin bed mattresses stacked next to each other, no ice bucket, no movie channels on TV, and check-in at the front desk was convoluted and time consuming. Spring for the Super 8 next door.

If you're just needing a place to stay for 1 night, this will do, it was clean, had a refrigerator and microwave, and the beds were clean and also 1 exit away from lots of places to eat and only 9min from Winstar.
