Just back from a 30-day trip around Iceland with husband and stayed at 7 different hotels/hostels in that time. I found Tokasstadir to be my favorite due to the human connection with Arne, our host and owner of this house. We stayed for 3 nights and loved driving back to the house to have his 2 very friendly dogs run up to meet us as we drove up (see pics). We had a waffle breakfast with Arne and also were able to get answers to many Icelandic traditions, schooling, etc. This guesthouse is located just up Road 94 from the turn-off to Seydisfjordur and on the only road (Road 94) up to the Puffin Marina (see live webcam) to Bordurfjordur Eystri harbor where puffins are up close and personal! This place is also located within a few km back to Egilsstadir! Great location and cheap accommodations for the money. Best part--getting to know Arne who was absolutely wonderful!
Nous avons passé seulement une nuit avec mon conjoint et tout s'est très bien passé. L'hôte nous a accueilli chez lui dans sa maison avec ses chiens. Hôte charmand, attentioné et chaleureux. Nous avons beaucoup aimé pouvoir échanger avec lui sur les traditions islandaises ou la manière de vivre en général. Nous avons laissé un avis écrit dans un de ses nombreux cahiers qu'il semble collectionner. C'était top de voir toutes les langues écrites à l'intérieur. Nous recommandons vivement pour réellement rencontrer des "natifs". Merci.
Wer familiäres und uriges isländisches Bauernhof-Feeling sucht ist hier genau richtig. Liebevoller Besitzer kümmert sich herzlich um seine Gäste. Einfache, jedoch herzliche Unterkunft. Island pur! Absolut empfehlenswert!
