Chateau Avalon

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend. The grounds are beautiful at this property. The rooms, however, are smaller than you'd imagine and kind of worn and run down. Our room in particular had a HUGE puddle of water on the carpet surrounding the bathtub (which is right in the middle of the entire room). The puddle never seemed to dry, despite my efforts to get more towels to soak it up. Which made me believe there was a leak somewhere that kept feeding water to the area somehow. The fixtures in the Egyptian room were chipped and missing paint, as well as the carpet and furniture. It wasn't terrible, just looked pretty worn and slightly run down. Getting the shower fixture to work in our room was kind of a challenge, but we figured it out eventually. I thought there was supposed to be LED lights in the bathtub, but there wasn't. Or at least ours didn't work. We had a fun time in the city and didn't spend much time at the hotel, so it worked fine enough for our short trip.

It was comfy. But cleaned the hot tub myself. It was a bit grimmy.

Enjoy my first time here was able to do a big tour of the whole place. Close to all shopping convenient places. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Property is in desperate need of repair and updating. Furniture is old and scratched up. Shower curtain rod was pulled out of the wall on one side and molding around the window from the shower. Fire alarm went off every time we took a shower. We were there multiple days and never got our room serviced. Had to keep asking for clean towels at the desk but had a hard time locating a staff member every time. No robes in the room. Bathroom flooring was messed up and you could see the sub flooring underneath. Trash was left under the bed. The coffee maker was broken. Front steps are in desperate need of repair. For the amount of money we spent for this boutique hotel, we expected excellent customer service at the very least but we never received our breakfast order and didn’t get the iron/board we requested. Our keys stopped working multiple times during our stay. Again had to track down someone to rekey our cards. They finally turned on the fountain because there was a wedding at the end of our weeklong stay. It was nice to finally see that but they turned it off as soon as the wedding was over. Overall, it’s ok. Definitely not worth the amount of money we spent. Could’ve spent less at a Hampton and got hot breakfast every day.

Beautiful place. They definitely need to add a pool.

The place looks nice in the pics and outside when you arrive. Once you walk in the perfume is strong. Once you settle in you realize it’s covering the mold smell. The bath tub was a death trap waiting to happen. Would not recommend. Will never stay again. Had to rent another room at another place and just waste money.

Property and rooms are in need of renovation. The cost far outweighs the experience.

This was at least our 20th visit over the years. I think that says it all!

No grab bars for tub, toilet really low, no iron/ironing board, missing outside middle railing, sink no counter space, no drawer space, no lamps. Frig unplugged,no bedside table one side, elevator flr needs new tile, frnt porch unkept, for the price ver disappointed
