Berns Hotel – Boutique Hotel in the heart of Stockholm

I booked the room for my sister who went to stockholm with a friend. They loved the location, the staff and the restaurant, where they had wonderful breakfast and tasty dinner in the beautiful Asian. In fact everything was great with exception from the room they were given, i had booked the essential room which was one step up from the cosy essential in size, but it turned out being nothing like on the photos.Apart from being tiny it had no views, but instead had a skylight letting the sunshine heat the room that had no AC .On the footend of the bed,(that was amazingly comfortable btw)was a huge flatscreen TV that devided the already tiny room. Luckily my sister and her friend enjoyed their stay at this hotel,pointing to all the positive things that far outweighed the room .

My recent stay at Berns Hotel was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Upon arrival, my companion (My daughter)and I, two women alone, were left to struggle with our luggage up two sets of stairs with no assistance from the staff, who merely watched us. The hotel room was shockingly small for the price. (And I travel all the world, 4 to 5 times a year at least.) The bathroom and shower are combined with no separation, causing the entire bathroom to get soaked whenever you shower. The floor looked old and dirty, and the hallways had worn-out carpets that made it difficult to move luggage, with no help offered by staff. I witnessed several other guests expressing their dissatisfaction, wanting to change rooms or cancel their reservations. This should have been a red flag. Despite the restaurant looking nice, it’s the only decent aspect of the hotel. The housekeeping was abysmal; rooms were not cleaned properly, and getting a clean towel was nearly impossible. Location is good, but it’s not worth the horrible experience. To top it off, the hotel tried to scam me by charging a smoking fee, falsely accusing me of smoking in the room. They claimed tobacco found in the room was evidence, but it could have easily fallen from my purse or luggage. Despite my repeated requests for proof, they provided none and insisted on the charge. This is outright theft. Avoid this place. There are far better options where you won’t be treated poorly or scammed out of your money.

Breakfast available from 7 30 am but you are charged in any event.

Beautiful hotel in the center of everything!

Great location as you are near the ferries and public transportation. Historical building with lost of character and charm. Breakfast is served in the restaurant hall which is beautiful. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Only drawback is if you are unfortunate enough to get a room facing the street as every night the music and noise from the downstairs club will keep you up well past midnight.

it is important to remind Americans that there is no AC in the room.

We were not aware that the hotel has a nightclub on the weekends with loud music until 3 AM. We slept poorly the first night because of the incessant beat. But the hotel cheerfully moved us to a better room the next day. My daughter had the same experience with a loud vibration in the room, but they were moved to a better room. It would be helpful to know about this ahead of time to request a quiet room on a higher floor. Otherwise the hotel was excellent! Beautiful, well-maintained, fabulous breakfast, great location, helpful and cheerful staff.

Very clean and great location. Loved the breakfast and enjoyed my stay!

Wonderful location. Close to everything, quiet enough that we could open our window to cool down the room (although a neighbor decided to open theirs and proceed to smoke and talk on the phone loudly late one night). The breakfast and facilities were superb. The bed though was incredibly squeaky, and there were a few nights where I struggled because the bed made a horrendous squeak every single time we moved a fraction of an inch. That’s really my only negative comment about our stay!
