Abelonas Retreat

Loved our stay at Abelonas Retreat. Excellent location right on the walking trail. Amazing sunset views ( why struggle with all the gawkers in Oia when you can watch from your own place?). Nice pool for afternoon cooling. Clean. Comfortable beds. Loved the personalized breakfasts brought right to your door. Excellent staff. I’d give them a 10!

Property was nice overall, although bathroom had some minor issues: shower box is semi open (which spills water outside), toilet often clogged (requiring 2 flushes), main drain was loose (and we often tripped on it).

Our stay at Albenos Retreat in Santorini was nothing short of magical. Perched above the caldera, the retreat offered breathtaking views in every direction. From the west-facing balcony, we watched the sun sink into the Aegean Sea in a blaze of color each evening—a truly unforgettable Santorini sunset. On the east side, we were greeted each morning by the gentle glow of the sunrise, casting light over the island and starting each day with serenity. The rooms were spotless, thoughtfully designed, and comfortable—offering a perfect mix of modern amenities and Cycladic charm. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and local tips to enhance our stay. One of the highlights was enjoying our daily breakfast on our balcony, with fresh local ingredients and unbeatable views. It was the perfect way to slow down and take in the peaceful surroundings. Albenos Retreat was a peaceful haven that gave us the best of Santorini’s natural beauty and warm hospitality. We’d return in a heartbeat.

The host Pablo was friendly ans helpful, the breakfasts served in our room was outstanding, the view and room were nice. Hotel situated well, on the walking trail but in a cute quiet town away from the crush of tourists in Fira.

Loved our 2 nights at Abelonas retreat. Super clean and right on the rim in Imerovigli. Also right on the trail to Oia. Great breakfast as well. Not fancy but just right.

Rooms are large, small hotel, private sitting are outside, quiet and peaceful

This was my second time and my family’s third time staying at this property. It is the only one I will stay in when I visit Santorini. It is just far enough away from the crowds of Oia, and in my opinion, has a better view anyways of the Caldera. It is right at the beginning of the path to Oia, and it’s a very convenient location. The service is really what makes the difference though. They treat you like family, they are very welcoming, and extremely helpful. If you need anything at all, they will help. I love this place and I will definitely be back again!

Abelonas retreat was a decent value for money place to stay at. The views are amazing!!!! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast delivered to your room every morning is a very nice touch as well.

Stayed here for 5 days and loved every day. The room gets breakfast delivered daily to the room, and they come and clean when you leave. The host really made us feel like we were on vacation and gave us lots of good food spots and activities that needed to be done. If you book, know that the view from inside the room isn't always the best, but a two-second walk does give an amazing view of the island. Also, if you decide to stay, ask the host for advice or anything, and he will help. Last but not least, just something I may have missed in the booking, but know that the airport transport is not free, they are 30 euros each way when I stayed. (It is not a bad price because taxis may be around the same, but letting you know because if you rent a car, you can have that at the airport ready to drive).

The hospitality was unmatched. We did all the restaurant recommendation and they were great. The made to order breakfast was a nice touch. We felt like vip guests. Finally the view of the sunset was amazing .. We actually left oia early as the crowds are unbearable just so we can get back to the room to watch the sunset.
