The reception and hallways were nice, the staff were pleasant.

When entering the room, we had difficulty opening the door with the turn key, which remained an issue throughout the state, when mentioning to the staff they said a few of the doors were a little difficult to open. Although the room was clean, the walls had visible marks on, the bathroom lino was completely damaged, through water I presume and it was all pulled up from the floor. I was surprised it was left like that. The bathroom was also smelling of smoke when we entered. The carpet in the main room looked dirty and also was loose at the edges, meaning you had to be careful on not tripping on it when going in and out of the room. The kettle where it was positioned had no plug on top, instead you had to plug it in underneath and the wire was too small so u had to put it somewhere else. There were no hangers for the wardrobe, no iron or iron board. The windows were very high up. It was very noisy at night so I had to close the windows at night, I had to stand on the chair, then onto the high window ledge to reach the window to close it. I attempted to use the fan instead as it was a warm night and it didn't work, so struggled to sleep well. Also there was so much loud banging on the doors at night, which also kept me awake. The second night, I had asked for a new fan, which also didn't work but then I realized it was the wall socket that wasn't working.

Room I had booked had broken blinds on the ground floor. Room was recently refurbished but not well maintained. Raised this to reception area and they moved me to a smaller room but did not refund the price difference. I did arrive late (after 10pm) so staff coverage was probably low.

Just across the road from the Baths Hall theatre, sainsburys next door lots of pubs and takeaways along the road.
