"Excellent location and very friendly"

8.0

Enjoyed Brest, people, cuisine, tram, and Sunday market! Brittany is geographically very close to England but why: - the smell of freshly made, in front of us, delicious food - the look of local fruit & veg, sea food, meat, cheese, wine, etc. are so different?! Very pleasant and memorable experience.

"overall a pretty good experience"

8.0

The hotel is clean and at a convenient location. My few complains are 1) there are only stairs at the entrance, so I have to carry my heavy suitcase through the stairs. 2) the bed is right after the desk, so I can't really pull the chair out and sit comfortably. 3) i had some orders wrong: I want cappuccino, but i got hot chocolate (a very good chocolate though). I want eggs for breakfast but i didnt get any. Other than these, the hotel is nice and the front desk is very helpful.

"Excellent location and fine accommodations"

10.0

For the price, this was an excellent choice. Being an European hotel in a small city, it lacked some of the luxurious accommodations of more expensive "big city" hotels. The staff were very courteous and efficient. I would definitely stay again.

"Good if on an expenses paid visit."

6.0

The room wasn't overlooking the street as stated on the booking particulars. The room overlooked heating and kitchen vents and dirty rooftops, and was overlooked by adjacent and opposite apartments. very depressing. There were no Tea or Coffee facilities in the room. Expensive for a plain and simple no frills Hotel .

"well surprised!"

10.0

...and we were. Very good hotel with a nice selection at buffet breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Well located on the main street. Only problem was that while we were there, the new public transport system was being installed on Rue Siam and the whole main street was in turmoil. Work expected to continue till 2012 making walking/shopping on Rue Siam very difficult if you have a mobility problem. Hotel was excellent though!

"Not As Advertised"

2.0

Only stayed 1 night, but that was enough. We were told on arrival at 9.00pm that the restaurant in the hotel was open until 11.00 pm as it was friday night (even the poster in lift advertised this). We went down for dinner at 10.00pm only to be told that they were closed. I then told him that we had been told that they were open until 11.00pm and he replied yes but we are very busy. I then counted out (in french) the empty tables to him which numbered at least 20 and he then told me they were expecting a large party. By then it was clear that we were not going to get served and we left. When I mentioned this to the duty manager the next morning when we checked out, he jus shrugged his shoulders. I had planned to use this group of hotels' further as we travelled through france on our holiday, but I will never visit any hotel in this group again!!!

"Pleasantly surprised"

10.0

Having listened to colleagues' reviews about Brest and their accommodation during a previous visit, I was a bit dubious about my impending stay. However, I needn't have worried. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised by this 3star accommodation. I was expecting old furniture, tired rooms, man-made fibre sheets etc. How wrong was I. The reception area was large and clean with helpful staff; the bar area was welcoming and comfy (although service a little slow) and the bedroom was much better than I was expecting. The wood flooring was light and clean and the bed was large and very comfortable with crisp white cotton sheets although the pillows were a little 'high.' The bathroom was very modern and clean with a wet room type feel and granite tops - there was no bath, which was not a problem for me. The maid came every day but at different times so one of the days of my stay the room was not serviced as I was in residence. Continental breakfast in the restaurant was plentiful. I'm not a fan of continental breakfasts so didnt eat much but still thought the price a little steep regardless. The hotel was perfectly placed for me as I was working at Le Quartz conference centre which was a 5 min walk away. Overall a very pleasant stay and should I ever have to travel to Brest again, I would definitely stay here.
