The photos on the Marriott website showed a spa, but it's not longer there. There are also signs on each floor for ice and vending. But only ice is available. The restaurant varied a ton on service. It went from taking 35 minutes for a slice of cheesecake to getting an entire breakfast in 5 minutes. There was also a button on the phone for the restaurant, but nothing that explained if food could be ordered via phone and picked up. Just some lacking guest experience points. The layout of the suite I was upgraded to was bizarre. But it was nice to have the extra space.

Central location in DT Tacoma. We were in town for a comedy show. We were able to walk to dinner and the comedy club. Everything was very clean. There’s a nice bar/eatery in the hotel which was nice for a night cap after our night out. The staff was very nice and polite. The hotel and the room were very clean.

Only issue was parking. There are 2 options: self-parking or valet. Self parking is $20, I think. $30 for valet. We used valet but, wow, was it slow! There was no one attending the valet stand and took a long time to get our car parked. Luckily, you can request your car online, which we did upon checking out sometimes waiting for us when we got downstairs. They either need more valet attendants or a lot that is not so far away.

I’m gold elite and have stayed at a lot of Marriotts and Courtyards and I will not stay at the Courtyard Tacoma Downtown again. The bed was lumpy, the hooks in the bathroom are falling off of the wall, I could literally listen to my neighbor’s conversation through the wall, they don’t offer anything in the way of breakfast amenities (not even coffee in the lobby) and the “bistro” food is overpriced, underwhelming, and it isn’t even open for lunch. The internet is also unreliable and quite slow. This was also one of the few times I was not upgraded which normally isn’t a problem but it is a problem when there’s not much to rave about. Also, $20/day parking across the street is not convenient. To sum it up, stay away from this one, it’s not worth the money you’ll pay, not even close. I will say the valet service was very good and the staff I spoke with were professional. But overall, I will tell others to avoid this hotel for its sub-par qualities.
