Hotel Azure

Service is just okay here. The rooms are very dated and smell kinda musty/mildewy so I won’t be going back. Quiet, Free parking and proximity to town is a plus though!

The room was recently renovated and as a result very comfortable. Shower was clean, nice & had good hot water with solid water pressure. The room had ample lighting. The bed was comfortable. The sheets and towels were all new, comfortable & fluffy/soft. The room had a mini fridge, with microwave & desk. The internet was good. The view & closeness to the Lake was excellent, even though it was right next to the main road there was limited noise. The parking was accessible and well lit we felt safe parking there. The entrances and exits were well shoveled, had no ice & the parking lot was easy to get into/out from. The room had excellent blackout and privacy curtains that kept the room dark and warm. The heater worked well, we were comfortable in our room. There was a TV but we did not watch.

The Mechanics of the hotel were very good. But to be direct - the hotel itself has little charm. I would come here with friends on a ski trip, not with a spouse/partner on a weekend away. The hallways, the entrance to our building, the elevator were bare/stark and smelled heavily of pine sol disinfectant daily and felt very sparse (no furniture, no chairs to wait for people, no art on the walls, no plants, no holiday decorations, nothing at all). Also, the door to our hotel room was not very secure. There was a 1+ inch gap below the door itself (easy for someone to push a bar under to open the lever door knob to break in) - both our room's doorframe and the locking mechanism were also not very secure. We let the front desk know at the end of the trip they were nice and apologized.
