"Amazing land, food, and service."

10.0

I had an incredible time at the Wildflower Inn with my friends. The breakfast meals were the perfect fuel for a day of snowboarding, the service was considerate and friendly, and there was a beautiful view of the sunset as well. The food portions for all meals were hearty and delicious; I would not hesitate to book a return trip to the Wildflower Inn.

"Could not recommend enough!"

10.0

Recently had the opportunity to go to the Wildflower Inn this January, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. The rooms were absolutely amazing, with a well kept and cozy space great for sharing with friends. The staff were easy, responsive, and very kind. Outside of the rooms, the location is unreal, and you will not want to miss the incredible sunsets when staying here!

"Best Location in the NEK"

10.0

There is nothing more beautiful than waking up on Darling Ridge. This property is beautifully situated and comfortable. Sure, the decor is a bit dated, but everything is very clean, great beds and linens, nice coffee facilities. Don’t hesitate!

"Whatever you do, don't hold a special event here"

2.0

Whatever you do, do not host a special event here. We contracted the Wildflower to host our rehearsal dinner and welcome event (an ice cream social) and it went worse than I could have even imagined. Our plan was to host the event outside if the weather was good, and since the Wildflower has significant covered outdoor space, I didn't expect rain to be a problem. We arrived to the area several days before the event to mountain bike and stopped by to meet with the venue. Rain was in the forecast, so we asked about the contingency. They told us that they had filled the covered outdoor space with dinner reservations, despite having us pay a hefty event fee. They told us we could pay several hundred dollars to rent a tent, or they had a small shed onsite that some people could fit into, but that people would have to walk back and forth down a hill in the rain to get any food. After much discussion, they said that they could borrow some tents from other places and cover an additional outside area for us. It wasn't ideal, but we agreed to it. When we stopped by again the day before, they reassured us that they had the tents and that everything was all set to go. Imagine my shock when our families arrived for the rehearsal dinner and I was pulled aside and they told me that tents weren't available after all, and they had nowhere to fit our guests when they arrived in 1.5 hours. The covered outdoor space was empty and the indoor restaurant was largely empty. When I asked why they couldn't accommodate us in those spaces, the coordinator kept going off to call the owners and coming back to tell us no, that it was not possible. Finally, a half an hour before 100 people were due to arrive, we were told that those who could fit huddled in their shed could, and that the rest of our guests would have to stand in the rain or that we could buy the ice cream from them and find somewhere else to host our event at half an hour's notice. I was in shock. My partner and I didn't get to touch our food or enjoy our dinner with our families because we instead had to spend the entire time first trying to figure out what was going on and then frantically trying to organize another venue for our guests who were imminently arriving. Fortunately, the Inn at Mountain View Farm, who was hosting our wedding the next day, allowed us to have an impromptu party there. The Orange Rind sold us tubs of ice cream and our friends quickly bought up bowls and toppings. The Wildflower offered us no apology, no compensation (they didn't even comp any of the dinner that they completely ruined), and I had to hound them to have my event fee refunded. Apparently the Wildflower was bought by new owners in California recently and it's been nothing but problems since they started. They forced Kingdom Crepes, a foodtruck beloved by mountain bikers, out of business because they didn't want competition for their food window and have done much to alienate the East Burke community. We chose the Wildflower for our celebration because the location is beautiful and we have so many good memories of biking there, but I will never eat there again and certainly don't recommend them for an event.
