Palmoro House

I recently booked the Palmero Hotel off Hotel Tonight since the photos advertised look stylish, clean and beachside. I arrived in the nighttime for check in. Unfortunately I was uninformed that there would be no one to check me in upon arrival at the actual Palmero Property located at 424 Por La Mor Drive. In addition this property was poorly lit, locked, and had a low to the ground gate you could easily climb. Across from the Palmero are train tracks, and a park which has some scrupulous looking characters, and individuals clearly on drugs or addicted to them. When I went to the front door of the Palmero there was a number to call which instructed to go to Monte Mar Hotel to check in which was 3 blocks away. You still have to get out of your car to use your key card and at night it didn’t feel safe at all and even in the daytime I was nervous as a woman was wildly screaming and throwing herself around on drugs. This is not where you want to stay but looks different advertised because they are posting Mar Monte Hotel. You get to use the Mar Monte’s facilities but that doesn’t do much good when it’s not safe to walk there and it’s driving 3 blocks away.

Thin walls could hear every time the door slammed shut.

The area was quiet. The property looks like it had seen better days. The elevator and the heater were not working. The big tree in the parking lot dropped sappy leaves that are hard to wash.

Private and near the main facilities.

I enjoyed that there were so many hotels lined up next to each other and it was cleaned and nice

I really had high hopes for staying at Palmero House. I brought my handicapped mother who is wheelchair bound for a xmas getaway. Here were the highs and lows Highs Close to East beach Super clean rooms, quiet building, comfortable bed and accomodations Lows First we were given a non handicapped bathroom, but quickly changed to a different room with the appropriate bathroom access. Our heater was not working most of the night. The temperature in room wouldnt go above 69 degrees on a very cold night Called the front desk from the room and my cell phone. Their phone lines were down all night and part of the morning Palmero house is around the corner from the main Man Monte Hotel so u have to walk there to speak to the front desk or use any of the amenities. Before checkout, i requested fresh towels from house keeping. They never came I addressed several of the issues with the hotel front desk and manager. They blamed being short staffed the reason for all the mishaps.
