Stunning with helpful staff

Full English breakfast could be better

Lovely hotel. We stopped for one night and had a great stay with a baby and dog. Very friendly staff, good size room and great grounds to explore. Lots of history

The staff were very polite and very happy to help when accommodating my family and friends for dinner. The beds were so comfortable and sheets were so soft. We had breakfast and dinner, both very tasty. I normally don’t enjoy staying at hotels due to the noise but this hotel location was perfect and other guests respectful so had a good nights sleep. I used the swimming pool and sauna throughout my stay which was very relaxing. If I visit this area again I would definitely stay at this hotel.

The Steam Room in the Spa didn’t appear to be working as it should, it looked a bit tired.

The meal at New Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield was excellent. The food was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and cooked to a very high standard. The setting added to the experience, with a lovely atmosphere and attentive service throughout. Overall, it was a really enjoyable dining experience and I’d happily recommend it for a special occasion or a relaxed, high-quality meal.

We visited New Hall to celebrate my birthday. A few days before our visit I needed to check that we were booked in the restaurant for dinner. I rang the number and no-one answered after 5 minutes so I tried a different number and Julia Hands recorded message said I was being directed to operator which never happened. It took almost an hour of repeatedly phoning to eventually speak to a person. I wondered what would happen if i wanted to contact a guest with an urgent message. The room was spacious and there were two armchairs unlike other places where only one is provided. We were able to sit on the terrace for an afternoon drink which was very enjoyable until a group of smokers appeared. There was not a designated smoking area. We were on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate and when asked what we could order were informed 'anything'. Fortunately, the couple on the next table told us that we were allowed up to £45 each otherwise we may have had to pay the extra. My husband ordered soup and it arrived without any bread. When the waiter was asked for some bread he said there would be an extra charge. It took so long to arrive that the miniscule amount of soup had already been eaten. After waiting almost an hour for our main course I asked the waiter how long it would be and was informed that 'chef is preparing it now'. On leaving the restaurant the waiter said that he would not charge for the bread. I think he could see that we were not best pleased with the service. New Hall is a beautiful place and bar and reception staff were very helpful and friendly. They need to sort out the smoking issue and poor service in restaurant.

The breakfast was exceptional and the room/ensuite was above and beyond.

No complaints or concerns at all.
