Hotel Alif Campo Pequeno

Good hotel with transport nearby and good food option nearby as well.

First time in Lisbon and when I go back I would have no hesitation choosing this hotel. For me it's the ideal location, only 10 minutes away from the main city center by metro with a metro stop literally one minute's walk away. The metro links you to everywhere you might want to go in Lisbon with connections to all other public transport. There are bus stops fifty yards from the hotel entrance that will also take you downtown to the tourist heart of the city. It's literally across the street from the Campo Pequeno Center which is a beautiful, large commercial complex comprising, the bull fighting arena, a large shopping center with a great food court and numerous shops including a Pingo Doce supermarket. It also contains a multi screen cinema complex. Additionally there are several restaurants based in the complex. It's also only a few minutes walk from Avenida da Republica (street), where there are more restaurants and shops than you could possible need. It's situated in a quiet neighborhood and is ultra clean with wooden floors in the rooms, the staff are friendly and helpful and the towels are changed every day provided you leaved them on the floor as required. My room (211) had no view, was a bit dated furniture wise and didn't have tea and coffee facilities in the room, however, all in all this hotel met my requirements, but then all I really require from a hotel is somewhere clean and comfortable to put my head down at the end of the day.

I have been a customer at the Alif for several decades. For the price, it was excellent. Much to my dismay, things have changed. When we arrived, the person at the front desk was rude and said immediately the room was reserved for only one person and there would be an extra charge of. 10 Euros a day. Her next sentence, again very rude and said, "documents." It was immediately stated that there was a charge of 10 Euros a day for parking. (It use to be free.) The room was spacious and clean but the airconditioner was not functioning properly. I called the front desk, and after 30 minutes so an employee came to look at the problem. After a few touches on the control panel, he pointed up and left. Still the fan did not function. Since the room was comfortable, I did not call again to the front desk. The next morning at breakfast, I noticed that the dinning area was change from the 9th to the 1st floor. This was due to new restorations. Although the new dinning area was modern, it now longer had a great view. The next day, it was muggy, so I again called the front desk to look at the airconditioner. No one ever came to the room. I am sad to say that the Alif is no long the hotel that it once was.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean.

A year ago we stayed at this hotel and we were very please with the place and the staff and service. This time around was the total opposite, the staff at the front desk was very rude, the bed seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in a while as well as the floor and the shower ceiling was falling apart. We'll definitely be looking for another hotel in our next visit to Lisbon.

Nice lobby. Rooms need some updating. They were doing renos so no bar and no access to ice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Love the hotel , location was good ,very clean the staff was very helpful , been under renovation was not so great but understandable , I will stay here again. It was great

Bathroom smelled of sewer so a little unpleasant. Decent value overall for price charged.

The room was clean the staff is friendly. A helpfull bellboy at a 3 star hotel is not common in every country. Some minor issues were annoying the bathroom door was noisy but that's a room related thing. The majority of TV channels went wrong after few minutes but for us that wasn't important.
