This is the best place to stay by far in Mendocino, the best host and the the most amazing restaurant, I had a perfect room with a jacuzzi on the porch where I watched the stars all night which was amazing . I recommend this place to everyone .. BEST

Stayed at the MacCallum House for a weekend getaway and it was honestly perfect. The room was super cozy, clean, and had this classic Mendocino charm, plus a fireplace, which was a really nice touch. The whole property has this peaceful vibe, and it’s right in the middle of town so everything’s walkable. The food at the in-house restaurant was way better than we expected, fresh and super tasty. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, which made everything feel relaxed and easy. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to slow down, relax, and enjoy the Mendocino coast. We’ll be back.

MacCallumn House is a wonderful place to celebrate and or just relax. love the ambiance…great staff and excellent food. Grounds are gorgeous also. I have enjoyed many birthday dinners with friends and meetings after work. on and on since 30 years…💫💫💫

Nice Bar and Dining experience in a Victorian setting. Staff were friendly and helpful. A nice option in Mendocino to have a nice evening as a couple or with friends... Just a couple blocks away and you can walk the bluffs for a sunset view and drinks after!

MacCallum House is everything you could want in a boutique hotel and more. From the moment we arrived, the service was super warm and welcoming. The room was clean, beautifully designed, and the bed—so incredibly comfortable that I didn’t want to leave in the morning! The amenities were top-notch, from the robes and high-end toiletries to cozy fireplaces and thoughtful touches throughout the space. Not to mention, the views of the Mendocino coastline were absolutely breathtaking. Everything felt peaceful, clean, and well cared for. I can’t wait to come back for another relaxing escape. If you’re looking for charm, comfort, and luxury all in one place, MacCallum House is the spot!!!

I had the great fortune to stay at the MacCallum house mid-May 2025. A delightful, sun-filled property with old-world charm and modern amenities. My room was tastefully appointed, had a warm cozy electric fireplace that brought the room alive, and just outside the door, a private patio and hot tub! The king sized bed was just right with rich cotton sheets and multiple pillows to arrange a comfortable night's sleep. The included breakfast was delicious, large and served in the windowed front room looking out over the town and portions of the coast line. They were preparing for a wedding the following day and the wedding party was enjoying their stay with a beautiful tent covered outdoor venue. A truly stunning location for an event. The town of Mendocino is a delightful , pedestrian town filled with unique art, restaurants and classic turn of the century buildings. Well worth your time and enjoyment. I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy a stay, or more, at the MacCallum Inn and the town of Mendocino.

My buddy Chris and I are riding up from the Arizona–Bay Area line, and Mendocino was a stop on our route—what we didn’t expect was to be absolutely blown away by our stay at the McCallum House. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we’d stumbled into something extraordinary. We stayed in the upstairs room, and let me tell you—it’s palatial. The space has a regal presence, and the view of the Pacific Ocean from the windows? Absolutely breathtaking. Dinner that evening was nothing short of five-star. I had the fried chicken, and my friend ordered a pasta dish—both were out of this world. The flavors, the plating, and the attentive, thoughtful service were unmatched. It felt like fine dining with the warmth of home. And then there’s breakfast. Complimentary, yes—but “complimentary” doesn’t do it justice. We’re sitting in the morning sun as I write this, still marveling at how good it all is. Every bite has been perfection. The only tragedy? We’re only staying one night. But it’s a night we won’t forget. Thank you, McCallum House. Thank you to the entire staff for an unforgettable stay. If you’re lucky enough to snag a reservation—take it. You won’t regret it.

Our nightly price was more than 100% higher than the price listed on MacCallum's website! Moreover, after clearly documenting the basis for my total dissatisfaction with their arbitrary pricing, and dealing with both their General Manager and Reservations Manager over the past 11 days, I give up! Here goes, at checkout I was charged a $339 nightly rate. When I pointed out our room's rate was currently listed at $179 and $299 a night, their response was that my room's rate was actually $399 a night and that I had received a 15% Return Guest discount resulting in $339 a night. One Manager rationalized to me that the Hotel's rates change regularly during their busier times. In response, I explained that there were no other guests in our entire Suites complex, which was anything but busy. OUTRAGEOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE! Be warned that the complimentary Breakfast is so very restrictive to be humorous. I never ate their breakfast! Finally, we had an infestation of ants in our bedding! Obviously, I will never stay again!!!

We have been coming to Mendocino for many years and had always wondered about the MacCallum House for dinner. This time around we decided to try it. To be fair we are seasoned travelers, good home cooks, and are always looking for great food and wine experiences. The potato/leek soup was this weird brown color, not sure why but it was a bit off putting. The seasonal salad was delicious with the pomegranate and candied walnuts. The pork chop entree was a true disappointment. While the pork chop was perfectly cooked the quality of the chop was not that great. The cut had a lot of gristle and fat so the actual edible part was small. We were not that hungry so it was fine, but I would not order it again. The spatzle that it was served with was downright gross. It was dry, in fact so dry that we ordered a side of gravy ($2) to make it edible. I make spatzle at home all the time and would be more than willing to share my recipe with the chef. If the chef wants to stick with his, he should make the side of gravy standard for the dish! The service was good for our table but I felt very sorry for the people behind my husband because their service was so bad that the waiter comped them a dessert. The ice cream is delicious here because it is made in a French style so it is very creamy and rich. Not to be missed!

Our room had 2 problems. 1) the door key didn’t work properly, which the management knew. Several times we had to call the front desk, which was 4 blocks away, to open our door. 2) Our room was not cleaned very well The spreads were thrown on the beds and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned.
