Arrecife Gran Hotel & Spa

We have just returned from a magical week in this fabulous 5* hotel. Our room was an Infinity Suite on the 15th floor with panoramic views over the sea, the nearby "Love Island" and over the city. A joy early every morning was to press the bedside button that opened the curtains electronically and take in these views whilst still lying in bed. The whole room was bright and modern with various places to lounge around. The room was kept spotlessly clean by our brilliant, cheerful and helpful room maid. We had booked B & B and the breakfast was amazing. The choice and variety of high quality food was stunning. Unlike other hotels we have stayed in, as soon as something was running out it was promptly replenished. Although the hotel was busy at the weekend there was always a table ready for us - an extra area was opened a couple of mornings so there was no waiting for tables. The area had a manager constantly on hand to ensure things ran smoothly. We generally ate in the city at night in some really interesting restaurants but a couple of nights we ate in the bar on the 17th Floor and again the food was well-cooked and imaginative. The drinks and the food was very reasonable for a 5* hotel. We also had a few drinks in the lovely pool area and used the outside sunbeds to read and relax. The hotel was bright and airy and was decorated and furnished to a high standard, with various stylish sitting areas. There were 5 lifts available to get up to our 15th floor and we rarely had to wait around for one. All this was crowned by an absolutely brilliant staff right across the hotel. They were constantly helpful, cheerful and friendly, whilst being professional at all times - they could not do enough to assist, even though they were very busy at times. We are not great at our age at remembering names but Alex at the front of house instantly spotted that we were very tired after our flight, and he whisked us up to our room loaded up with all our bags and hand luggage - he was a real treasure and a credit to whoever trained him. As well as our lovely room maid mentioned above, Senora Valentina, who was one of the managers in Blue 17, was a delight and looked after us whenever we went in for a drink or to eat, and had a good sense of fun. The breakfast staff never stopped working and were ace, particularly the enormous man (who looked a bit like Jack Reacher) who constantly found us things with a smile, and also the young man cooking the eggs to order. He took that extra bit of care to get your food just as you wanted it. The manager in the light brown jacket kept everything moving smoothly....... If you are looking to spoil yourselves in an exceptional hotel for a city break by the sea, the Gran Hotel Arrecife might be just what you are looking for. We recommend it highly.

Good location; large room; lovely welcome; good buffet breakfast. Rooftop and pool bars.

Room in need of a bit of a makeover as is pool area.

Gute Lage. Personal sehr freundlich.

Es gibt zu wenig Aufzüge, sodass man teils etwas länger warten muss. Wir waren im 6. Stock, so konnten wir auch das Treppenhaus benutzen.
