Hotel Admiralteyskaya

The hotel was overall good. The room was clean, the only thing was even though it was a non smoking hotel the room smelled like smoke when we first arrived, due to guests not following the rule. Also there was cigarette smoke coming into our room from other rooms. Staff was exeptionally friendly. Breakfast bar was different but def. had a lot to offer. We knew going in that it would be far away from city center but the bus stop was a 4 min walk away and buses to the center were regular the bus tickets were inexpensive. Hotel restaurant was very good as well.

The location was a lot further than I thought! There was a discrepancy of the hotel address on TripAdvisor and Google Maps, it's approx a one hour walk to Nevsky Prospekt! The area around the hotel is a bit grotty, I wouldn't feel safe there on my own. There are better hotel options in SPB for sure.

We walk a tremendous lot to explore cities so the distance away from the centre of the city did not worry us. I think the hotel could provide two additional midday services to get from the Sadovaya metro square in case you require it. It would also be helpful if they provided a translation of their hotel facilities in the room so that you know what is available. The restaurant in the hotel was a useful stop gap if a little expensive in the evenings. The breakfasts were plentiful. We would recommend the hotel as long as you take the distance into account. Good value for money.

It is a good little hotel. 20/30 minutes walk from downtown but with a free shuttle service to nearby subway station and main street. No elevator, but it is just 3 stories. Big rooms and good service. Not too many english speaking employees but manageable. It has an ATM inside which is great for tourists. You can also have a very good complimentary breakfast and get a hot russian meal in the restaurant.

Great hotel for the price with friendly and helpful staff. Only complaint is that it's a bit far from the metro and the shuttle service doesn't run very frequently (however, a metro station is in the process of being built near the hotel).

Good location, excellent food, nice clean room, very good service - all this for a price of the cheap motel.

This is one of the best budget hotels I have ever stayed at. The room is small by US standards, but it is well designed and decorated. The staff is also very helpful. There is also a shuttle to and from the metro.

The hotel was just what I needed: a private, warm room with a hot shower. While the hotel was off the beaten path, they provided a shuttle to a major plaza/underground stop in the mornings and evenings. A few of the staff spoke English and even those that did not still tried to help in any way they could. I had a queen sized bed, lots of pillows and warm blankets. The bathroom was quite modern. One downside was there was no clock in the room. Television programming is all in Russian. No CNN International here.

Cheapest hotel I have ever stayed at in St. P. I was expecting something a bit more shabby or run down, but the hotel was clean and my room was bright and cheerful. The front dest personnel tried to be very helpful, although their success in this varied a bit depending on their English ability. My one real complain is that the toiletries are pretty cheap. I don't mind a single-use plastic packet for shampoo, but the plastic soap packet was pretty cheap and there was barely enough to use in the shower. The room was fine--clean and quiet. There was free wireless internet, altough the connection speed was fairly slow. The location is lousy--on a drab, dead-endn street with nothing within walking distance--but I was there on business so it was irrelvant for me. The only problem I had was on the morning I left when my wake-up call came 20 minutes late. I was very impressed when I left however, because I was leaving before breakfast was served (begins only at 8:00), so the front desk made me coffee and gave me breakfast to go in a doggy bag--at no charge. Very thoughtful.

Pleasently surprised by this nice hotel ... Extremely good bargain for the price ... Nothing fancy but more than adecuate: Internet, free buffet ... Very helpful and friendly staff. Would stay there again even if I could afford a more expensive hotel.
