The Birchwood

Our room looked over a tree lined avenue, across to a grassy park with the ocean beyond. The hotel was originally a historic property and as such our large room had lots of space. The dining room was very pretty and the food was excellent. We valet parked and did not drive the whole time as the Vinoy, the Dalí, marinas, restaurants and museums are all an easy and enjoyable walk. The rooftop bar was a delightful place to sip a cocktail and people watch with the city lights blinking in the distance.

We did opted out from the limited breakfast, instead walking to a coffee bar each day. The bathroom door in our larger room was not designed to latch readily, occasionally awkward!

Esperaba mucho más de este hotel por el precio que cobran la estadía. Tienen 1 sola persona en recepción, que ademas se encarga de atender el valet parking y ademas se encarga de atender el desayuno. Como consecuencia, cada vez que necesitas servicio no está disponible. Adicionalmente, el valet parking te cobran $35 y no podes acceder a tu auto entre las 11 y las 7am. La puerta del hotel la cierran a las 10pm y no se puede acceder a recepción. Durante 3 días no nos hicieron la limpieza de la habitación cuando la pedimos en varias oportunidades. No reponen tampoco el jabon o shampoo. Todo hay que reclamarlo 20 veces. Domingo a las 6am ponen musica funcional y no podes dormir. En el rooftop hay un bar que trabaja hasta las 2am, las habitaciones dan a los ascensores por donde sube y baja gente que va a ese bar porque NO es del hotel, es público. Lamentablemente tiene much trafico y el ruido de la gente no nos permitió dormir en todas las noches. NO VOLVERIA A ESE HOTEL Y NO RECOMIENDO QUE NADIE VAYA.

We stay here a lot but it has changed. They ran out of coffee but the staff was very accommodating

The bathrooms need to be cleaned. Everytime I stay they never mop the bathroom floor

No amenities open on Monday’s (no bar, no restaurant, no coffee, no rooftop).

Good location. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. Greeted us everytime we came in or out.

Rooms could have been cleaner. More attention to little things. Lots of dust on bed posts, baseboards and areas that typically should be wiped down or dusted. Continental breakfast left us a little underwhelmed.

Location is excellent! Rooms haven’t changed in several years but are well appointed, clean and super soft beds.

20% Discount should be offered to all people staying each day not a one time dining use. There are so many options to dine and if we chose you there should always be a benefit.

Breakfast was just right.

Could have larger container of body wash in the shower.
