Amethyst Inn at Regents Park

Charming Victorian Inn. Location was close to downtown but not a busy section so was mostly quiet. Breakfast was generous & made to order. Duchess guest room was very spacious & nicely appointed. Large soaking tub was appreciated.

Clean overall but a few neglected places (dead flies on the dusty window frame…). Some deferred maintenance but generally comfortable with charm & history.

Breakfast was excellent. Rachel was very friendly and extremely helpful.

Could have used a brighter light bulb in the bathroom, the hand held shower was a bit awkward to use.

Very steep steps to front door after carrying suitcase up told room is in basement,wardrobe only left 6 inches of space on one side of bed so wife hit ankle on wardrobe ,large bath with tiled boxing around it with no shower screen or curtain so shower hose was as good as useless and dangerous getting in and out of bath , I always wondered where the woman who baked strange cakes in the vicar of dibley went ! She now does breakfast at this hotel.

The breakfast was amazing. The staff was quick to reply and very accommodating. The house was in amazing condition

The garden room was quaint. Very comfy bed. Having our own seated outdoor area was nice. Breakfast was delicious. Rachel is a wonderful host!
