Great location, spacious and clean

Location was absolutely super

Lacked a homely feel, very basic, no cushions, rugs or soap!! No wifi, which was stated in the extra terms but something I really would take for granted nowadays. In particular having to stand there while the meter was read in the rain wasn’t a great start. Whilst I appreciate some people can take advantage we spent 1 euro a day on electric but it just left a bad taste. Neither myself or my friend have ever had to pay electric separately. Such a shame as the property really could be exceptional with little money spent.

I've got nothing, everything was exactly as it should be.

Location was perfect, in a small, quiet housing estate, but a two-minute walk from the main street where all the restaurants, bars and shops are. Clifden is also a great base for exploring Connemara, the main sights are all within about a 30-minute drive.

The layout, it is a three-storey house with three of the bedrooms in the basement, and master bedroom on the top floor - not ideal when you have children. Lack of WiFi in the house is an issue when the mobile signal isn't great in the area. No coverage at all in the basement. The house was very clean but basic enough, no handsoap, hairdryer, toiletries etc provided. The kitchen is well equipped and some milk, sugar, tea and instant coffee was provided. The pillows were terrible, so thin, they were quite uncomfortable. Finally, there is quite an archaic system where you have to pay in cash for your electricity when you're leaving, after the caretaker reads the meter. Have never come across this before. Overall, for the price we paid I would have liked better facilities and to not have to pay extra for the electricity.
