Royal Rock Sigiriya

Lovely place. Clean. Staff friendly and accommodating. Food lovely

The pool was amazing, with a view on Lion's rock. Also the room sizes and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The staff was so kind to arrange the transport to Lion Rock for us at 5 in the morning. And it was only one phone call to let them know we needed a pick up. Highly recommend this accommodation if you like to visit the area and relax at the pool.

By far the best accommodation we stayed in throughout our whole trip in Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived all of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as great as possible. They even decorated our room with balloons and flowers as it was my partners birthday. The pool area is fantastic with a spectacular view of lions rock in the background. We found ourselves wanting to stay in the hotel area as much as possible. The surrounding area is very nice and peaceful and is walking distance to many restaurants.

シーギリヤロックやピドゥランガラロックまで車で10分もかからない距離にある。 ロケーションがよく、朝ごはんも美味しく、何よりスタッフのホスピタリティが素晴らしかった。 こじんまりとしているので、ツアーの手配も手軽に行えストレスなく滞在することができた。

施設はやや老朽化がみられる。ただ、水圧等は問題なく、宿泊には支障がない。

We had a wonderful stay here, on arrival we were even upgraded to a room in the upper floor. The room, as well as the swimming pool, have a nice view of Lion Rock. We really enjoyed relaxing by the pool in the afternoon after our visits in the morning, even though they could install some parasols to provide some shade around the pool. Breakfast and dinner were also good.

- We contacted the hotel a couple weeks before our arrival (WhatsApp, Email and last on Booking.com chat) to arrange the transfer to the airport. Since they took more then a week to answer, in the meantime we arranged our transfer with an other driver. -The menus are priced in USD, but the payment is cash only in LKR. In my opinion it'd more practical to list all the prices only in LKR.

LONG REVIEW BUT WORTH IT! If you are visiting Sigiriya, I highly recommend booking Royal Rock Sigiriya. The rooms are spacious, clean with a big comfortable bed with air con and a ceiling fan which made the room so cool and comfortable even when 35 degrees outside!We had a room on the top floor with a view of Lions Rock and waking up to this view was incredible! The breakfast area is so peaceful, watching the squirrels and egrets wonder round. We had bed and breakfast with our stay and the breakfast really did set us up for the day. Omelette, different vegetables each day, chick peas and lovely fresh bread for toast. Freshly squeezed juice and good coffee. The pool area, WOW! So relaxing and the pool is so refreshing. The staff are constantly cleaning the pool and the area so it is always ready to be used. There was a kingfisher who visited the nearby tree everyday which was amazing! The staff really do set this place apart from anywhere else. From before we even arrived I was impressed with the customer service. Always a quick response to any queries and happy to arrange a transfer, ours was straight from the airport and went without a hitch! Sujee was there to greet us and he really made our stay in Sigiriya special. From arranging tuk tuks to recommendations on activities and restaurants, Sujee was on hand for everything. Sujee arranged our jeep driver for our safari, and amazing spa which was so relaxing! And introduced us to the best tuk tuk driver Sadun, who also runs the restaurant next door called Taste of Home with his lovely wife! We were able to do the hot air balloon ride from just outside Dambulla which was unforgettable! We climbed Lions Rock for sunset and then also Pidurangala Rock the next night for sunset and highly recommend them both. Sujee also arranged for our driver who was taking us to Ella to stop off at Dambulla Cave Temple on route to save us going there and back another day.
