Taken from the municipality website …” The Convent of Desagravo do Santíssimo Sacramento in Vila Pouca da Beira was founded in the second half of the 18th century by the town council, nobility and people, in accordance with the Royal and Episcopal Provision that authorized its establishment.”. This serene property, once convent was absolute Grace 🥰. The rooms, staff, breakfast … all impeccable. Bathtub to bed linens … sublime! Muito Obrigada ❤️

We could not stay longer however, we will return!

"Not great food, beautiful building."

I have stayed here many times over the last nine years, I just love the building and location.

The food wasn't good, not hardly any choice either. The Couvert was mostly meat, I don't eat meat, so I asked for it to be taken away, the manager still charged me for it, even though we didn't touch it. We chose the vegetarian lasagne, it didn't come with anything else, no vegetables or potatoes, just lasagne! It tasted like a cheap supermarket ready meal and was also cold in the middle, the waitress had a horrible attitude.

If I could give 100 stars I would, this hotel is AMAZING. My husband and I booked this last minute on our way from Porto to Lisbon, we wanted to see the rivers and countryside, and it was the highlight of our trip so far. It is off the beaten path but it is absolutely worth it, rooms are immaculately clean, huge and beautiful, the property is gorgeous and maintained like a pristine Villa, the pool overlooks an amazing valley with crystal clear rivers 5 minutes away, staff is so so friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast is delicious. Really cannot say enough about this place, we only stayed one night but if we would have known about this place sooner we would have stayed MUCH longer and it was so hard to leave, there is so much to explore around. Take the extra trip, it is absolutely worth it.

Absolutely nothing. It was all 5 star.
