they had bed bugs and roaches … and i got ate up

This place is truly in the middle of nowhere Alabama. I stopped here for the night on my way home. This was definitely not my destination. The problem with the location of this hotel is there aren’t any restaurants or convenient stores located anywhere nearby. I had to drive almost 8 miles to the nearest gas station in order to buy snacks for the night. The good thing about this hotel is that it is nice and quiet. For some people it may be too quiet. The service is ok. The bed is nice and soft. You should get a good nights sleep here. The forest and scenery from the hotel is pretty nice to look at as well.
I booked the room with Expedia beforehand & checked in about 7pm. I was surprised to find the price was actually cheaper than i i initially thought i was paying. The next morning i am awoken to maintainace BAMMING on my door (i still have 2.30 hours left ti check out) he says he needs to check the bathroom. I wasnt fully clothed so i asked him to wait. I begin walking into the bathroom & immediately noticed the floor is soaking wet presumably from water running consistently. All of my personal belongings were completely wet. He came in and checked it and said he'd be back later😐so im assuming the problem was known prior to my visit. I decide ti book again for the day thinking I'd just book the same thing. The manager was first VERY UPSET about me even paying the price i paid saying they no longer charged that its not more. I ppaid about $58. (👌great deal) bc it chraged my card 72$ online. So i asked him since my things had gotten wet could i just book it for that same price and mive rooms. He said absolutely not. i want 74$. I reluctantly paid it whice was anout 20 more than i paid they day before. I was then moved to another room. i began to see roaches maybe one or a 2 or first then they started to become more noticeable. Crawling on the pillow & tables. i called housekeeping to come spray my room she did. i didnt make much of a fuss afterwards. I got into the bed after i felt safe enough to. im laying watching my phone. a roach runs across the side of my face
Rooms were very outdated and I horrible condition. Ceiling was falling down in the shower of our room.
Only sleep is what I got out of it.
Staff was very friendly. Room was cleaned daily and towels replaced. (We stayed 3 nights). Good location and beautiful view from the hotel. Room was supposed to be non-smoking but had strong stale smoke smell. Washer and dryers were out of service also.
