Beach Terrace

Location is amazing. Easy walking to restaurants and downtown while directly on the beach. Other places we have stayed at you have to walk across the street and down a ton of stairs but this was amazingly convenient. They set up chairs and umbrellas on the beach for you, have towels and sand toys, beach volleyball and football to play with as well as body boards for the family. They have robes for the beach and even slippers for the room. We were impressed with the breakfast options and set up. Not the typical hotel breakfast. Creative, healthy and plenty of options for a nice easy breakfast. My only negative thing to say (if I had to come up with one) was being below the lobby and hearing the employees walking back and forth getting ready for breakfast very early in the morning. Other than that, very nice time.

The staff were great and the place was beautiful! Kids loved it! The room was spacious, the views spectacular, and the little cabanas on the beach were perfect. I loved that there were toys we could just borrow and use. We were there for St.Patricks day and the "grab and go" bar was in theme, making us all smile. I was expecting Yoplait and bananas, but it was very well curated breakfast items that felt special on their own. Lots of restaurants nearby and close to Legoland which was nice for small kids. Would recommend!

Best location right on the ocean. Every detail was VIP level. Great place to relax and refresh. Easy walk to town and steps from the beach.

Excellent location on the beach and near Carlsbad village. Spacious room and shower. The waves of the ocean sounded like they were coming though our room.

This was our 3rd time staying at Beach Terrace Inn, and we absolutely love it! We are making it a family tradition! We've stayed there in October, July, and now March and every time is peaceful and enjoyable. We love that it is right on the beach, and they provide beach chairs and umbrellas, and sand toys for kids. Easy access to the beach, with towels and water to rinse your feet. Makes a beach day so easy- close enough to return to your room if you forget anything. We also love that it is within walking distance to so many delicious restaurants, as well as shops. We arrive and don't need to drive anywhere. We appreciate the free breakfast, wifi, and parking too. The best part- supporting a family-owned hotel in this world of big corporate ones. The staff is amazing- friendly and helpful! I could go on and on about this place- it's one of the only ones that is actually on the beach in Carlsbad! All the rooms are huge- perfect for a family of 4 or even 5, there is space enough for an air mattress if needed. Bathrooms are huge too. We have stayed with ocean views, without, and with pool and ocean views. The pool is heated, and there are chairs to sit and watch the waves, alongside fire pits, and blankets for cooler evenings/mornings. So peaceful. Check it out- you'll love it!

I absolutely love this hotel. The location can't be beat, right on the ocean yet walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. It feels like a little oasis. The ocean front rooms have amazing decks overlooking the sand. Definitely pricey but feels like it is worth it compared to any other hotels nearby. The breakfast is simple but lovely and different every day.
