Water Street Inn

The room smelled musty and was kind of dingy. Plus, being charged extra for parking in their lot was an unexpected fee on top of everything else. That actually really frustrated me. $300 a night and you still gotta pay for more stuff. So tiring in this world lately.

The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Stillwater near shops, restaurants, and the riverfront. The rooftop restaurant/bar has a spectacular view of the river. While the outside and public areas have been renovated, the room was dated to the point of shabbiness. The bathroom could use a complete renovation and the room a paint refresh. The room was dimly lit and low on outlets. There was no desk and the chairs at the small table were very uncomfortable. Linens and towels were new and clean. Parking is not included and the lot associated with the hotel is pricey, but there seems to be a lot of metered or free street parking available.

Hardly no bookings that night and we get a room in the back of the hotel next to an elevator and laundry room.

I loved the newer rooms

No door handle on sliding barn door so hard to open and close from the inside of the bathroom. Wish there were more rooms with balconies. We had breakfast at Charlie’s in the morning before checking out and there were flies and bugs everywhere and service was horrible. Never checked to see how our food was or if we needed anything. Me and my friend ordered French toast and it wasn’t even fully cooked. He didn’t even get syrup with his. I was so preoccupied about trying to keep the bugs away I lost my appetite. Charlie’s is okay for drinks be know you will be waiting for a while to be seated and service is very slow.

Old but nice

The rooms were adequate but t outdated. The building is old but doesn't not have the old charm to it. Very little is in the way of updating or modernization is done. AC units old and smell of mold. The whole feel of the hotel is old and worn but not run down. Feels like the owners are doing just "enough" to keep it running.

Big conference in town and there was plenty room to move freely. The hotel was adequate to handle large crowds.

CONS: - ants in bathroom - dust everywhere (check vanity lights) - peeling/chipping paint/wallpaper - DATED, not historical, decor - stained carpet room and hotel - not worth the expense and received no comp for the ANT issue - ants in bathroom even after having us stay out of room for the day so they could spray (2 nights, 3 days - over $1000 suite) PROS: * super staff!!!! * location fabulous - view unforgettable * quiet room * soft comfortable bed * temperature control great * lots of space (no mini fridge)
