Basecamp Lodge Canmore

Location is great and accessible to all major roads and neighborhoods. Check in and check out process was seamless and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was great, exactly what you would expect of a good hotel room.

Staying in Canmore instead of Banff was the right decision. We liked the town, 20min driving from Banff. Lodge was a great find. Would stay there again. Clean rooms, nice staff and free parking

Bathroom was a bit small.

Check in and check out process was very smooth and hassle free. Great coffee machine, community space, super clean and nicely furnished room etc. The entire property felt very well lit and airy.

Parking space could be slightly bigger, also presence of a microwave in the room will be highly appreciated, as in the off season many restaurants close sooner or are closed, it will be easier to heat up ready to eat meals if needed.

The room was very spacious and clean.

Terrible stay- avoid. We stay in Canmore 10+ times a year. This was our first with Basecamp. What they don’t tell you is that they back onto the train track and the train runs on schedule every 30 minutes. So if you are facing the track don’t plan on sleeping. On top of it our unit was fully cleaned and we asked if we could check in 30 minutes early (checkin is 4pm). We had dinner reservations and were hoping to freshen up. It was a hard NO, the code switches at 4 and they don’t do early checkin. There were 5 other groups we could see waiting for 4pm even though the units were ready. We also didn’t know that there was a unit below ours and our kitchen was above their bed. Our first noise complaint was at 6:30pm when we came back post dinner from walking in. The second one was at 8pm as we sat at the dining table playing a board game. The person in the unit below was trying to sleep it was Good Friday so both a holiday and a Friday night. We were asked not to walk on the main floor kitchen/living room or make any noise. $550 for 1 night where we had to be quiet after 8pm due to their terrible layout and NO soundproofing. There are so many places in Canmore. Choose anywhere else.

stayed for couple of days . rented two units . close to banf national park . everything was great about the stay. we even drove to an area several miles away for the aurora borealis. my wife used the heated pool .
