The hotel was clean, warm and comfortable. The receptionist was helpful and gave us explicit directions to the room without any problem.

The only downside was the room carpet. It was almost threadbare in places and is in need of replacement. It didn't spoil the break, but it makes you wonder if other rooms are in need of a little TLC.

We were staying over Christmas to be near my elderly parents for Christmas. Hotel is only a short distance from parents. Room was nice and clean, good towels, comfy bed. Not sure about air source heating though. Reasonably efficient but very noisy. We had to turn it off to sleep so temperature dropped pretty quickly. There were fewer staff which is understandable over Christmas. Those that were there were very good, friendly and worked hard. The facilities again were limited during the Christmas break which didn’t bother us. I did hear a few other guest chuntering about it and the lack of information relating to how breakfast was being served etc, we however didn’t have any issues. Loved the Christmas stocking hanging on our room door when we went for breakfast Christmas Day morning. Lovely touch.

The air source heating. Reasonably efficient but definitely not the best form of heating. Very noisy, we kept it on first night well into the night but couldn’t sleep properly for the noise and it leaves you with a dry throat and snuffly. Had to switch it off the next 2 nights so we could sleep, consequently room got cold fairly quickly. I understand it’s currently the form of heating everyone is being forced to use but it’s definitely not the best.

Tried to charge £800 parking. The parking cowboy company harassed me for 2 weeks. Avoid the headache!
