Courtyard Dunn Loring Fairfax

We like to get a hotel room at this property because it is one walkable block from our relative when we come to visit. That said, because we booked through Expedia (and not directly through Marriott) when we checked in they gave us the worst/most noisy room they could have given us which was right off the elevator, next to the ice machine, and a shared door with the room next door with very noisy, inconsiderate neighbors (loud conversations at 5AM).

The room was clean. AC worked great. Breakfast was amazing, although you have to pay for it. Covered parking was an added payed bonus. Metro station and several stores are very close by.

My room was very clean and comfortable, and I especially appreciated the blackout curtains for a great night’s sleep. The location was excellent, within walking distance to plenty of dining options and conveniently close to the people I was visiting. Overall, a great stay.

Nice lobby, clean room, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in shower. Convenient location to metro.

Only convenient to Mosaic if you had a car (in summer heat). Bed very uncomfortable with lumps, did not feel big enough to be the King size we paid for, and room square footage felt very small. The front desk woman was curt with us when we tried to check in at 3pm per booking.com — apparently the hotel policy was 4pm, but we would not know that based on our reservation information. Instead of offering us options in the lobby bistro, she recommended tea shops we had to drive to. When we returned after 4pm, she was again curt and said the rooms were not ready. A more helpful man went to grab the housekeeping list and then immediately was able to pair us with rooms next to our traveling companions.

The staff was excellent.
