Kamaole Sands - Maui Condo & Home

Located at the heart of Kihei, walking distance from lots of beaches. Enjoyed the ocean view from our room. Rooms were spacious and clean. Overall perfect gateway to awesome family time

Although the pool was lovely, the activities planner was amazing, and the shave ice at the pool snack bar were the best we found, we were disappointed. Our unit was nothing like the pictures. We felt bamboozled! The veranda had a direct view over a vacant lot with a garbage filled grocery cart and junker cars. One never knows the security in a complex like this, so we could not even leave our bedroom curtains or window open because the walkway was 3 feet from the bed! This gave the condo a feeling of being in a tunnel with only the veranda doors at one end giving natural light. There are no windows! Accurate pictures would have allowed me to make an informed decision. And be mindful of the fact that it is a privately-owned condo and therefore has no towel service, no garbage pickup, etc. and some of the appointments in it were cheap and inferior--pillows and beach towels in particular. The safe was for the owners, not for guests. Hm. And our unit was at the back of the property so a long schlep to the beach. Also, the road running the length of the property was very noisy from traffic. I am not a total whiner by nature, but I was really bummed.

Nice condo hotel with great beach access and amenities.

Everything was perfect here except for the cockroach in the room and the mini lizard. They both lived in the stove. We trapped them in there and did everything in my parents room

Third time staying at this condominium but all apartments different in quality and accommodations due to privately owned this last time was the oldest we had. New tv's and master bath was nice but beds and other bath old. I get its worth it for the locations.

Beds are terrible. Showers are in need of repair.

Stayed there twice before when under only Castle handled everything. Now each unit owner chooses their own management company. We found it cocusing because Castle only checks people in and out now. When I called the company for our unit I was told that we get a starter kit "soap, towels etc" & buy what we need as we use things up--no maid service etc. We kind of liked the Independence but the staff seemed a little miffed that we were unaware of this after calling the front desk twice and being told to call the management company. We liked not having to be out of the room for maid service but would have liked to know that it was going to be a crap shoot as to who you would have to deal with during your stay. I don't know who dropped the ball on this information during booking. Still beautifully kept grounds and beach location.

Living space was huge! We loved our location, we wouldn't change anything about it.

Excellent location, beautiful pool, very close to beach. Grounds are beautiful, awesome barbeque grills.

We stayed for a week in February. The condo was great - not too hot, great location across from a nice beach. It was also a convenient drive to many other places in Maui. The kitchen was well supplied, though we didn't do too much cooking. The mattress on the king sized bed was a bit soft - woke with an achy back in the mornings, but nothing a good swim in the ocean couldn't fix. Never watched the TVs but they looked nice. We saw whales from the balcony a few times which was really exciting!
