Skip to the last paragraph for the abridged version...lol. I usually stay at the hotel across from this Super 8 when I'm in Wytheville, but this looked clean from the outside so I thought I would try it. The price was much better and it was only for a night. I did the pre check-in which went smoothly taking less than a minute to get my room keys, and was able to park right in front of my room. The room was nothing fancy as expected but the room was clean, had laminate floors, and the bed was comfortable enough. I was feeling satisfied that I had a nice place to stay after a long drive and at a great price! That feeling didn't last long when a bunch of electrical contractors showed up being extremely loud. I didn't want to change rooms as I was all settled in. They were younger guys and I figured after they blew off a little steam they would quiet down. I was wrong. They were in the room directly above me and I could hear them talking loudly. The worst part was the thumping, banging, and heavy footsteps. It sounded like a herd of horses moving furniture. It finally stopped around 11:30pm. I was able to fall asleep but was awakened at 3:30am with more thumping and bumping noises. After pounding on the ceiling it stopped. I was awakened again at 5:45am with them talking loudly outside my room. They were lamenting that someone called to complain about them (it wasn't me). I did then shout at them that people were trying to sleep and to have some consideration. So my takeaway is the hotel is convenient being right off the freeway and is clean and well maintained and in a safe area. The amenities are standard budget hotel but the room is clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast options were again budget hotel with no hot options other than waffles and there were no proteins. However, the breakfast area though small, is clean and well stocked. This would be an outstanding place to stay and a great value but the downside is the lack of sound insulation. I guess it's a roll of the dice if you get other considerate patrons or not.

Clean, comfortable, and conveniently located right off the highway with scenic views!!! It was a perfect spot for us to stop before having to head over the mountains in WV on our way to OH.
