Marriott's SurfWatch

The resort was great. Great location with access to the beach. Pool was nice with lots of games for the kids. Very costly per night but fit my family of 6 perfectly. Definitely recommend this resort.

Exceeded my expectations in everyway!

I booked a stay here last minute for mother's day. As a result, I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The villa was much larger than expected with two bedrooms and a full kitchen. The balcony was great and had a nice view of the pool area. It was a bit of a walk to the beach, but the place had a golf-cart taxi service. Between the buildings and the beach is a wetland over which you walk to the beach via a board walk...some interesting views. We ate lunch at the beach side bar which had great service and good food...a bit expensive, but not unexpected for a hotel restaurant on the beach. There villas put on a lot of activities and were very engaged with the guests. I saw pool aerobics one morning. There was a theater showing movies all day. On Mother's Day they had mimosas for mothers. The only complaints I have are minor. There's no restaurant other than the beach-side bar. Not a problem, just know that you're on your own for breakfast, so show up on the first night with something to prepare in the kitchen the next morning. Also, the boardwalk to the beach get's crazy hot - one of my kids forgot their sandals going out the the beach in the morning and couldn't walk back on the boardwalk by the mid-morning...had to catch a golf cart.

Staff is great, resort is clean and quiet. I would recommend

Surf Watch was an awesome experience; only wish we had stayed longer. We tried to add a second night to our reservation and they had room but would not give us the same rate and neither would hotels.com. place was lovely and desk staff (Rosa) was super friendly and accommodating, as was reception area staff (Bob). We would like to go back for an extended stay or check out other Marriott Vacation properties.

Everything was amazing. The view, the heated pools, the huge hot tub, the quiet are, accessibility to everything we needed. And the staff was awesome. We didn’t realize checkout was at 10, but we called and they let us stay until noon.

Great location, wonderful service, clean & comfortable accommodations and loved all the activities and amenities available at the property. We traveled with children and it was great for them. Will definitely be returning!

I booked this hotel for my daughters 8th Birthday. The hotel was 3 miles away from our home but it felt like we were really on vacation. My daughter invited two girlfriends over for a sleep over. I also invited a couple other friends over for dinner. We had a lovely dinner in the very spacious kitchen. The table sat 8 comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped and all I had to bring was the food. After dinner we all went swimming in the outdoor pool even though it was 30 degrees outside. The pools were 85 degrees and the Jacuzzi was hot. The children said it was the best birthday party ever. A few hours after check in there was a knock at the door, a staff member brought a birthday present in for my daughter. I have not one negative thing to say.

The buildings are new and well maintained. The hotel is close to an excellent beach. There are lots of activities. However, it is necessary to self-cater or drive out to restaurants The "market" is poorly stocked and the only in-house food is from the bar on the beach. The units are in the owned by individuals and placed in a rental pool. There is pressure from staff to participate in a 90 minute sales pitch for ownership. Not really a hotel.
