Casa Grande Suites

The staff was nice and polite, although they asked us four times if we had payed the bill, which we had done ahead of the trip. The room was big and comfortable. They offer a good driver if you want to do private tours.

Gasa Grande is a fine hotel in a convenient part of La Paz. It's new larger hotel plans seem superb. Hope it becomes a reality!

What can I say? This hotel was the highlight of our trip - from every aspect! We booked a room with a king bed - we ended up getting a 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette. Wi-fi was superb in the room. There was a very well-stocked refrigerator and 2 free drinks per night we stayed. There was an excellent business centre with all the amenities in order to keep current and get things done! The service was off the chart! We had planned most things but we had a lot we wanted to accomplish including a day where we wanted to get to Copacabana, Isla del Sol and Tiahuanacu all in one day. They arranged a driver and he stayed with us all day from a 5am start to end of day - back at about 7pm. A little later in our trip we needed a car to Oruro and they arranged that too! Room service was great, breakfast buffet was great and included in the price of the room. After a two day trip to Cusco, Machu Picchu, we returned to the hotel - my boyfriend was not feeling well and having back problems - they arranged for a masseuse to come to the room and it gave him the relief he needed to keep up our busy, physically demanding schedule... While we were away in Cusco for two days, we left our luggage in their care and we simply took our backpacks and were able to travel light - that was great as well.... Restaurant next door, Charlie Papa's, was great as well. I cannot say enough about this hotel - we were home away from home! Comfortable & every amenity!

Remarkable service and exceptional suites

The Casa Grande hotel was a great experience. I wasn't there very long but the staff was extremely helpful. The stay began with the taxi driver charging way too much. The doorman was very helpful in getting the price down to a much more reasonable level. Check-in was very smooth and easy and there was even someone to take our bags to our room for us. It was also very helpful that the desk worker spoke English very well. The shuttle to the airport was also a very nice feature. The room itself was perfect. Everything was clean and in order. I wish I had more time to stay there. I will definitely be returning at my first opportunity.

A really 5 star hotel in a poorer country. Other ' 5 star' hotels in Bolivia that we stayed in were not in this league.
