Location, feel of the hotel

Room was not great. No aircon, room very hot. Room looked onto a building rooftop, generally room was uncomfortable.

Fantastic experience at the Tradewinds for our first visit to Carmel. Clean, cozy & comfortable king room with balcony, fireplace & assigned parking. Close to everything for daily walks into town for dining & shops or down to the beach. The location was also the ideal launchpad for our day trip sightseeing along the coast down the PCH. We stayed a second night to explore the 17 mi drive and Monterey. The breakfast delivered by basket each morning was delicious & fresh. We met so many nice people (and their dogs) and loved Carmel. We will be back! Highly recommend.

Roomy and well-furnished. Close to shops/restaurants but very quiet at night. Accommodating and friendly staff. Wonderful picnic breakfast served to your room. Ocean view from balcony and reserved free parking.

Unexpectedly delightful experience. The Tradewinds executed everything beautifully. We were able to check in early, our room was spotless, and the temperature was great due to the large balcony screens! The free breakfast delivery was absolutely LOVELY and beautifully executed- like a five star hotel costing hundreds more per night. Very pleasantly surprised with everything here. Book now.

This is an old inn. Keep that in mind when you are entering the property,it’s quaint. It’s clean and the patio with the fire pits and the water and the sounds around you make you feel like you’re back in the 60s.I know I am that old. There is no pool or hot tub but you don’t really need it. You got beautiful beaches just down the street. There’s no breakfast room but each morning they bring up a basket full of cereals juices, milk, coffee tea whatever you need. It’s a nice touch. I highly recommend this place. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home.

The ambience in the property was amazing. Loved the setup. Location was convenient - walkable to downtown and beach. The rooms were clean and the in room breakfast service.

Only thing they can improve is to have better bath products.

We have stayed here before and had a better experience. This time I rented a more mid-level room rather than the higher end suites. The room was along an outside corridor facing west. It was warm so of course you want to open the windows and shutters for ventilation and sea breeze, but then you are completely exposed to anyone passing. The whole set-up lacks any privacy. Additionally, there are bright lights blaring outside all night long so (when it is warm) you have to decide do you want air to circulate but no privacy and loads of light streaming in while you are trying to sleep, or do you want to shutter the room up and swelter.

Nice place, close to town.

Lovely spot - we stayed in a top floor room with an incredible view and just overall great vibe with a balcony where we could sit and see the ocean. 5 min walk to the main Carmel strip. Morning breakfasts were perfect and easy. Definitely would try this place again :)
