Lovely bedroom And modern clean bathroom. The onsite restaurant was exceptional

The bedroom was too warm and needed aircon.

Food and location were very nice.

Bed comfort was lacking, too soft. Very noisy surrounding the hotel with staff talking outside our windows early morning and later in the evening as well as guests loitering outside the window on the street. Did not expect to not have AC which was our mistake for not verifying so we needed to have the windows open which increased the volume of talking below.

The breakfast was really good, they brought it up to the room. Really liked it. The room was cute and had a teeny ocean view which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom floor was heated and that was awesome.

Nothing. Room a little small compared to others in the area but it's a historic building in a great area so to be expected.

Very overpriced. Blonde European at the front desk who checked us in was so unwelcoming and defensive- an angry person should not work at the front desk when you are paying $600+ per night. Rooms have amazing bathrooms, but the slick Waterworks fixtures and Matouk bath towels didn’t make up for the cramped room, stained carpet and short stairs that you can barely/safely walk down. Rest of staff was super friendly and helpful. Hotel should seriously put someone else at that front desk if they want guests to feel welcomed without a nasty attitude.

I didn’t like the very narrow stairs going up to our room.

Best stay my wife and I have ever had in Carmel! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cozy and relaxing place to stay.

There is no substitute.
