Estalagem do Mar

Fantastiskt läge precis vid havet och rummen var ganska nyrenoverade men själva hotellet kändes ändå lite dystert och bedagat. Sängkläder och filt i extrasängen var inte helt fräscha tyvärr. Knappt någon turistinfo i receptionen och lite ledsen personal. Provade inga pooler, de såg så dystra ut med grått betonggolv och immiga fönsterrutor. Matsal/restaurang var stor med massor av möbler men väldigt få gäster. Det mesta fanns på frukosten men det var inte jättefräscht och inte roligt upplagt, inte några lokala råvaror, ingen frukt och grönt som verkligen borde kunna finnas på en sådan plats. Nej här hade man kunnat göra massor för att förbättra ett annars fint hotell. Bra utgångspunkt för att se norra sidan av Madeira som är helt fantastiskt.

Buffet breakfast food was poor and staff only removed used crockery once you had vacated the table, so you often arrived in the dining room to find no clean tables.

Bra bas när man planerar att köra runt på ön. Var där i oktober och då gömde sig solen bakom bergen men det var fantastisk vackert ändå. Finns inga badkar som beskrivningen sa, men badrummet var nyrenoverat och fräscht. Trevlig frukost med yoghurt, flingor, frukter, bröd, pålägg, ägg, bacon, korv, ibland pannkakor, fattigariddare, kaffe/te...

Nord di madeira

Geweldige ligging. Zee- en bergzicht. Rustig, ook al is er veel volk. Ruime keuzes bij de kwalitatief goede maaltijden. Regelmatig live-optredens. Voldoende parkeergelegenheid. Klein minpuntje waren de vuile ramen van onze kamer... maar dat kan ook met de ligging aan zee te maken hebben... de kamer op zich werd dagelijks netjes gehouden. Geweldig fijn verblijf gehad.

Accueil chaleureux, l'animation le soir était un vrai plus. Deux piscines dont une intérieure ainsi qu'un jacuzzi et sauna. Très bon petit déjeuner il y a ce qu'il faut. Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une chambre pour 3 personnes avec deux salles de bain bien entretenues et équipées (belle douche italienne). Hôtel bien équipé, vaut plus qu'un 3 étoiles !

Very nice location, good food but not a big choice( remember that is 3 star hotel) ,see a bit too rough in April. Live music every evening was a bonus. Overall nice experience

Really great shorefront hotel located just a walk away from shops and restaurants. Initial impression was excellent and I was very surprised at the value for money (although I didn't go in summer so may be more expensive in summer). The staff were welcoming, friendly, and quite relaxed which I liked. The hotel has everything you need - indoor and outdoor pools, restaurant buffet and a la carte, bar, tennis courts, games tables, gym area, etc, etc. Some facilities were closed or were quiet but I appreciate I wasn't there during main tourist season. The room was very good - spacious, balcony, clean, usual amenities - however a downside was the air conditioning didn't seem to work (the fan worked, but no cooling) which didn't bother me but I get how it would bother some people and definitely in summertime. It's easy to drive to the hotel but parking is really tight - the receptionist seemed happy for me to park in the bus stop/lay-by across the road (which most folk seemed to do anyway). Cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. Food was fine - I just had the buffet, which may have had more choice but it's not a complaint. If you're going to Madeira for a sunbathing holiday then this hotel probably won't tick all your boxes because it is on the north shore of the island (cloudier, cooler) and it is in the shadow of a giant (impressive) cliff face some of the day. If you're going to Madeira for what I did - sightseeing, hiking, exploring and general relaxing, then this is for you.

Beautifully situated and enjoyable hotel. The ground floor rooms open to the outdoor pool, but at least in July they where quite damp and at least the two rooms we considered had a moldy smell. The reception kindly and patiently let us choose the room we preferred and we enjoyd a lot our stay in an upper floor room with a view over the pool to the sea.
