As long as they are maintained I love staying in old/older hotels. I love the feel the history and architecture.

A common issue I see in many places are the in room smoke detectors. As they age and get to the end of their life cycle (yes smoke detectors have an expiration date) the plastic they are made of is designed to “yellow.” Judging from the look of the smoke detector is our room, 326, it probably reached the end of it’s useable life span I’d estimate about the time the dinosaurs went extinct. NOT ACCEPTABLE! NOT SAFE!

Did not eat breakfast in hotel. The hotel was definitely in a walkable location to every thing. We only stayed one night, but would stay here again.

The windows in the room had a lot of condensation on them and were difficult to see the locks from our room.

"It was OK."

Perfect location dining, shopping, pub all within 1 block. Had a view of the Soo Lock and park from our window. Music in the park right next door. Comfortable beds (on the small side), room had all the basic things we needed. Larger size dorm refrigerator was nice. Free parking.

Men's bathroom on the main floor was absolutely awful. Our bathroom door was warped and didn't close correctly. Complimentary breakfast was very minimal, mostly prepackaged bakery. We opted to eat breakfast elsewhere. Beds were pretty small for 2 people but clean & comfortable. Would describe the room amenities as very, very basic but it did have everything that we needed for one overnight. Would stay there again in a pinch but would prefer to try another hotel next time.
