Tamarind Tree Hotel and Restaurant

We stayed 8 nights in this very well run hotel, it was very well organised, very clean, very friendly and helpful staff, good food in the restaurant overlooking the sea, 5 min walk to a quiet sandy beach frequented by Pelicans, Iguanas and Fregatebirds. Down there is also a beach bar and a very good diving facility ('east carib dive'). It's a little off the main tourist areas so a car is certainly useful to have to be able to explore the island. Rooms are tidy, not big, but clean and with mosquito screens and ceiling fans. Reasonably priced, owners Stefan and Anette doing their utmost to make you feel welcome and will help with all sorts of aspects of your stay, so it's well worth it !

The people running the hotel and staff were always very helpful in many ways. The food at the restaurant was good with wine and beer also available. T.he location was good to see many parts of the island. It is not a luxury hotel, but was comfortable and clean.

L hôtel est propre cependant les chambres ne sont pas climatisées et il fait chaud et il y a plein de moustiques. De plus lhotel propose un repas le soir à 25 euros alors que sur l'île on mange facilement pour 5 euros et très bien, il profite selon moi des visiteurs européens. Le restaurant le plus cher de roseau coûte 15 euros !! Le repas. De plus l'hôtel n'est arrangeant en rien ils organisent les excursions avec les prestataires les plus chers de l'île et ne s'adapte en rien a vous. Malgré un accueil sympathique je pense qu'il profite largement du fait que l'on soit européen et que l'on ne connaisse pas le niveau de vie de la Dominique et sur factures les prestations de ce fait ils ne sont pas honnêtes. Je ne le recommande donc pas.

Ein super Hotel, mit einem sehr gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Frühstücksbuffet mit leckeren Früchten wie Maracuja und Mangos, selbstgemachter Marmeldade,...usw.. Tauchbasis ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss zu erreichen und ist ebenfalls top, wer eine familiäre Atmosphäre dem Rudeltauchen bevorzugt.

L'hôtel est familiale, simple mais accueillant. La vue est très agréable et sa situation sur l'île est appréciable pour découvrir la Dominique. Une piscine petite,mais sympa pour ce détendre après une journée, un espace bar pour un petit apéro et les repas sont simples mais tout à fait correctes. Les chambres ne sont pas luxueuses mais tout à fait suffisantes pour des vacances. Pour ceux qui recherche le 4*, ce n'est pas l'endroit mais pour passer un agréable séjour, je le conseil. Je le recommande donc .....

Gute preiswerte Küche. Höflicher Service. Dieses Hotel wird von Deutschen/Schweizern geführt. Wen es nicht stört, dass man hier Deutsch spricht, fühlt sich hier wohl. Die Zimmer sind einfach eingerichtet, aber sauber und zweckmässig. Das Hotels ist etwas abgelegen. Man benötigt definitiv ein Auto.

Not attractive as you drive up. Rooms face the ocean and have a wonderful view. We ate hotel's choice of a dinner each evening at a reasonable price. Food was good including a large breakfast that was included. Check the room rate. We thought the cost would be what was quoted. When we arrived we were told it did not include A/C, so we had to pay many dollars more each night for what they call a "superior" room.. That took us by surprise. Owners and employees were very nice.
