ITStaff asked for tourist registration and had me wait for two hours before I could enter the room while they called all hotels I had been to on my tour. I was going to stay there just a few hours to have a shower and sleep a couple of hours before my flight back home. That document is no longer needed in Uzbekistan, they can check and register you online, and I had never been asked elsewhere. I was lucky someone speaking russian was there to help me out.

BRAs a family who often visits Tashkent and has stayed in several different hostels and private apartments, Safar Hotel met very well our expectations and needs. Breakfast was not included in our rate, which for us was a great excuse to enjoy visiting different and excellent cafes located a 10-15 minute walk away. The location is great, you can walk to lots of places or easily order taxis using the local app. The administrators (Anvar and Nelya) are always there, ready to help with anything you need. We booked a room that ended up being too small for us and they offered a better option, which ended up being just the right fit for us. The rooms have fridges and in a communal area you can find a microwave oven in case you need. It is a simple hotel that provides you with good location, quiet nights and safe atmosphere.
The first room we were shown was quite small and had a not very pleasant smell, but as mentioned above, we were easily given a better room. The new room was spacious, but I wish there was a better light isolation during night time. There is a small window right above the door which makes a lot of light from the corridor come in, which disturbed our sleep sometimes. As common with other hotels in the same quality, daily cleaning is not common, and here it was also the case, although we were offered to have the room cleaned after our third night there.
